Conroe-Montgomery Area Celebrates Banner Year with Five New Businesses, Fueling Local Economic Growth

As 2025 draws to a close, the Conroe-Montgomery area is celebrating a significant boost in its local economy, with five distinct establishments opening their doors throughout the year. These new ventures, ranging from family entertainment to luxury relaxation and culinary delights, underscore the region’s robust and diverse economic expansion, creating new jobs and enriching community life.

“The influx of these five unique businesses in 2025 is a testament to the Conroe-Montgomery area’s vibrant growth and attractiveness for entrepreneurs,” said Sarah Chen, Director of Business Growth for the Montgomery County Economic Development Council. “These establishments not only generate new employment opportunities but also significantly enhance the quality of life for our residents, offering more options for dining, entertainment, and personal care right in their backyard.”

Kicking off the year in January, **The Goofball Gym** opened its doors at 10450 I-45 N, Ste. 140, in Conroe. Owner Stephanie Sanchez envisioned a dynamic “playground-style” gym catering to children from 6 months to 12 years old. The facility boasts an impressive array of swings, rock climbing walls, monkey bars, and trampolines, complemented by a dedicated sensory gym. “We wanted to create a space where kids can unleash their energy, develop motor skills, and have fun in a safe, engaging environment,” Sanchez explained. The gym offers a variety of classes, open play sessions, and popular party rentals. More information can be found at TheGoofballGym.com. The gym operates Tuesday through Saturday, with varying class and open play schedules.

May saw the highly anticipated arrival of **The Burger Joint**’s second Conroe location, situated at 19380 I-45 N, Ste. 400. This Houston-based eatery, already a local favorite, expanded its footprint to meet surging demand in the rapidly growing Conroe market. Patrons can indulge in its signature gourmet burgers, crispy wings, fresh salads, and decadent milkshakes. The new location quickly became a go-to spot, especially with its daily happy hour specials from 3-6 p.m., Monday through Friday, featuring half-price appetizers. “Conroe has been incredibly welcoming to us, and we’re thrilled to serve even more of the community with our second location,” a spokesperson for the restaurant noted. In August, luxury found a new home with **The Woodhouse Day Spa** opening at 2005 Lake Robbins Drive, Ste. 100, in The Woodlands. This high-end spa caters to those seeking an oasis of tranquility and rejuvenation. It provides an extensive menu of services, including therapeutic massages, custom facials, revitalizing body treatments, and meticulous nail care. Guests can also enjoy serene relaxation rooms and advanced hydrotherapy options. “Our goal is to provide a truly transformative spa experience, allowing our guests to de-stress and reconnect with themselves,” commented spa manager Eleanor Vance. “We’ve been overwhelmed by the positive response from The Woodlands community.” Appointments can be booked at Woodlands.WoodhouseSpas.com.

October brought an exciting new entertainment venue to the community with **Conroe Axe & Gameroom**, located at 1121 League Line Road, Ste. 150, Conroe. Owned by local couple Amanda and John Miller, the establishment offers a vibrant space for group fun. It features 12 state-of-the-art axe-throwing lanes, a collection of vintage arcade games, skeeball, a pool table, and darts. A selection of beer, wine, and snacks rounds out the offerings, making it ideal for corporate events, birthday parties, and league play. “We saw a need for a unique entertainment option that brings people together, and axe throwing combined with classic arcade games proved to be a perfect fit for Conroe,” said co-owner Amanda Miller.
