Peet Junior High Teacher Arrested on Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child Charge
CONROE, TX – A Conroe Independent School District teacher was arrested last Friday, May 24, 2024, in Montgomery County on a charge of Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child. Christopher James Rucker, 30, who teaches at Peet Junior High, was taken into custody by authorities from the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office.
Rucker was booked into the Montgomery County Jail, and his bond has been set at $250,000. The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office is leading the ongoing investigation into the serious allegations. Investigators have indicated that the alleged incident occurred in March 2023.
In response to the arrest, Conroe ISD promptly communicated with parents within the school community. The district confirmed that Rucker has been placed on administrative leave following his arrest. Conroe ISD also stated it is fully cooperating with law enforcement as the investigation into these allegations, which involve a minor, continues.
Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child is a first-degree felony in Texas, carrying severe penalties upon conviction. The investigation by the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office is active and ongoing.
