Conroe Rotary: Governor Visit, Grants, & Fundraisers

Conroe Noon Rotary Club Welcomes District Governor, Funds Police Youth Program, and Plans Major Scholarship Fundraiser

Conroe, TX – The Conroe Noon Rotary Club recently hosted Rotary District 5910 Governor Suzi Howe as part of her official tour of all 60 clubs spanning East Texas, from Galveston to Nacogdoches. Governor Howe encouraged members to embrace Rotary International’s 2023-24 theme, “Create Hope in the World,” emphasizing Rotary’s significant global contributions to peace initiatives, clean water access, and the persistent effort to eradicate polio worldwide.

During her visit, Governor Howe presented a $1,000 District Simplified Grant to the Conroe ISD Police Department. Lt. Daniel Ratajczak accepted the check on behalf of the department. This grant is specifically allocated to support the department’s “Cops N’ Kids” Fishing Tournament, an annual event designed to foster positive relationships and build trust between local law enforcement and youth in the Conroe area.

The Conroe Noon Rotary Club is also actively preparing for its “All-Star Bash,” a significant fundraising event scheduled for Friday, May 17, 2024. The bash will take place from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. at Margaritaville Lake Conroe. The club aims to raise $50,000 through this event to fund local scholarships for deserving students. Attendees can look forward to an evening of dinner, drinks, live music, silent and live auctions, and casino games.
