Conroe Lights Up December With New Holiday Trail

**Conroe Shines Bright with New Drive-Thru Christmas Light Trail, Kicking Off Month of Free Holiday Festivities**

CONROE, TX – Conroe is illuminating the holiday season with a dazzling new addition this year: a brand-new drive-thru Christmas Light Trail at Candy Cane Park. Officially opening Friday, December 1st, the festive attraction promises thousands of twinkling lights and enchanting displays, transforming the park into a winter wonderland for all to enjoy, completely free of charge.

The drive-thru experience runs nightly from 6 to 9 p.m. through Saturday, December 23rd, at Candy Cane Park, located at 1205 Candy Cane Lane. Families can cruise through the park, immersing themselves in the holiday spirit from the comfort of their vehicles. For those looking to stretch their legs, a special “Santa’s Village” section offers an opportunity to hop out and walk around amidst the illuminated displays.

“We are absolutely thrilled to bring this brand-new drive-thru light trail to Conroe,” said Mike Riggens, Director of Conroe Parks and Recreation. “Our goal was to create an accessible, magical experience for all families, and making it free ensures everyone can join in the holiday spirit. Candy Cane Park will truly be a must-see destination this December, fostering community joy and creating lasting memories.”

Beyond the main light trail, Candy Cane Park is also a hub for direct interactions with the North Pole’s most famous resident. “Santa in the Park” allows children and families to visit with Old Saint Nick and snap memorable photos at the playground area. Santa will be available from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. throughout the same December 1st to 23rd run, also a free opportunity.

The Conroe Parks and Recreation Department’s efforts extend beyond Candy Cane Park, anchoring a robust calendar of holiday events across the city. This past weekend saw the successful “Christmas on Main” event alongside the popular Montgomery County Christmas Light Parade downtown, drawing crowds to celebrate the season.

Looking ahead, the festive fun continues with more opportunities for families:

* **Breakfast with Santa:** On Saturday, December 9th, families can enjoy a special “Breakfast with Santa.” While free, pre-registration is strongly encouraged due to anticipated popularity. Details on location (typically at the Conroe Recreation Center) and time will be available on the city’s website.
* **Santa’s Jingle Bell Jaunt:** Get active and festive on Friday, December 15th, with “Santa’s Jingle Bell Jaunt.” This spirited event, often a fun run or walk through downtown Conroe, invites participants of all ages to don their holiday best. Check the city website for specific start times and routes.

Conroe is committed to providing free, accessible, and high-quality holiday entertainment for its residents and visitors this season.
