Conroe North LL Preps Complex for 2024 Spring Season

**Conroe North Little League Batters Up for Revitalized Season with Major Complex Overhaul**

**CONROE, TX –** The diamonds at Conroe North Little League are shining brighter than ever, both literally and figuratively, as the organization races towards its March 2nd Opening Day for the 2024 spring season. A massive community-driven renovation effort has transformed the complex at 1205 Callahan Avenue, promising an enhanced experience for players, families, and fans alike.

Driven by an ambitious volunteer schedule through late 2023 and early 2024, the revitalization project has seen crucial backing from local pillars including Conroe ISD, Montgomery County Precinct 2, The City of Conroe, and Lowe’s. The goal: to ensure the complex remains a premier destination for youth baseball and softball in the community.

“This isn’t just about new paint and lights; it’s about investing in our kids and the future of youth sports in Conroe,” stated Sarah Miller, President of Conroe North Little League. “Our facilities were showing their age, and we knew it was time for a comprehensive upgrade. The response from our volunteers and community partners has been nothing short of phenomenal.”

By a December 16th deadline, significant milestones were already achieved. The league celebrated the completion of thorough renovations to both the concession stand and press boxes, providing more functional and welcoming spaces for volunteers and spectators. A standout improvement for evening games came with the installation of new, brighter LED light fixtures across all four fields, dramatically improving visibility and player safety.

January brought another surge of activity, highlighted by a major volunteer day on January 6th. On this day, dugouts on all four fields received a much-needed facelift. Simultaneously, batting cages were upgraded with new netting and turf, and all four fields benefited from the addition of new backstop pads, bolstering player safety. The announcer building and the park’s restrooms also received fresh coats of paint, contributing to a refreshed aesthetic throughout the complex.

“Seeing the transformation, field by field, has been incredibly motivating,” said Mark Johnson, a long-time league volunteer whose son plays in the minors division. “From parents swinging hammers to local businesses donating materials, everyone is united by the vision of a top-notch facility where our kids can thrive.”

While much has been accomplished, several key projects are ongoing, with a targeted completion date of February 1st, well in advance of the season’s first pitch. These include securing new turf for the Tee Ball field, making vital repairs to the parking lot, and adding new signage across the complex to improve navigation and aesthetics. The league is also working on resurfacing pitcher’s mounds and home plate areas in phases, along with addressing drainage issues and repairing various fences to ensure the complex’s longevity.

“The support from Conroe ISD and Montgomery County Precinct 2 has been instrumental, particularly with expertise and resources for major infrastructure improvements like drainage,” Miller added. “And Lowe’s has been an incredible partner, providing critical materials that have kept us on schedule and within budget.”

These comprehensive renovations are designed to not only enhance the player experience but also ensure the Conroe North Little League complex remains a vibrant and safe hub for community activity. The league emphasizes that the spirit of volunteerism is still needed to bring these final crucial improvements to fruition.

Families interested in joining the revamped league for the 2024 season are reminded that **registration for the spring season is open until January 21st**. Player tryouts are scheduled for **January 27th and 28th**, with the highly anticipated **Opening Day set for March 2nd**.
