Conroe Noon Lions Club Acquires Permanent HQ

**Conroe Noon Lions Club Secures Permanent Home, Marking New Era of Community Service**

**Conroe, TX –** The Conroe Noon Lions Club, a cornerstone of the Conroe community since 1946, has achieved a long-held ambition, officially closing on the purchase of its first-ever permanent home. This significant acquisition, which finalized in March 2024 and officially closed on April 26, 2024, sees the club acquiring the former bank building located at 1400 N. Loop 336 W. in Conroe.

The $2.1 million purchase represents a monumental step for the club, made substantially possible by a generous $1 million grant from the Lions Club International Foundation (LCIF). Mike S. Berger, a trustee for LCIF, was present at the official closing ceremony last month, underscoring the international organization’s commitment to supporting local chapters like Conroe Noon Lions.

For nearly 80 years, the Conroe Noon Lions Club has met in various temporary locations across the city, from the Conroe VFW and Incredible Pizza to several local churches. This new dedicated facility provides much-needed stability and a central hub for their extensive operations.

“This isn’t just a building; it’s a foundation for our future,” remarked current President Scott Perry. “Having a permanent home allows us to grow, expand our reach, and serve the Conroe community even more effectively. It’s a game-changer for how we can plan and execute our vital services.”

The property at 1400 N. Loop 336 W. offers more than just a stable meeting place for the club’s weekly Friday gatherings. Plans are already underway for renovations to customize the interior, with the goal of being fully moved in by the end of 2024. A key strategic element of the acquisition involves generating revenue by leasing out additional office space within the building.

Past President Scott Chappell, who chairs the building committee, expressed enthusiasm for this dual-purpose approach. “This unique opportunity not only secures a stable home for us but also provides a sustainable revenue stream that will directly support and amplify our community service projects,” Chappell stated. “It ensures our ability to give back to Conroe for generations to come.”

With a permanent base, the Conroe Noon Lions Club anticipates expanding its already significant community contributions. These include vital programs such as vision screening for children, awarding scholarships to deserving local students, and various humanitarian efforts that address pressing needs in Conroe and Montgomery County. The new headquarters is envisioned as a central point from which to coordinate and launch these initiatives, fostering greater efficiency and impact.

This move truly marks a new era for the Conroe Noon Lions, giving them solid ground to continue and even amplify their extensive community contributions. Their dedication to “We Serve” will now have a permanent place to call home, ensuring their legacy continues for generations to come.
