Woodlands Hills Hosts Dry January Wine Tasting

**The Woodlands Hills Elevates ‘Dry January’ with Sophisticated Dry Wine Tasting and Symphony Sounds**

**Conroe, TX –** For those embracing “Dry January” but reluctant to sacrifice the social elegance of a wine tasting, The Woodlands Hills community offered a unique and sophisticated solution this past Saturday, January 13th. From 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., the master-planned community hosted a “Dry January” wine tasting event that expertly blended education, enjoyment, and adherence to the month’s popular resolution, focusing specifically on naturally dry wines.

Held at the picturesque Model Home Park, located at 148 Flatwood Place, the gathering featured local wine writer and certified sommelier Christine S. Feldman. Known as “The Woodlands Wine Lady,” Feldman masterfully guided attendees through an international selection of dry wines, offering insights into their diverse origins and flavor profiles. Her engaging discussion illuminated the subtle nuances that distinguish naturally dry wines from their sweeter counterparts, providing valuable knowledge for both seasoned connoisseurs and curious newcomers.

“Many people associate wine tastings with indulgence, but this event was about appreciating the complexity and artistry of wine within a mindful context,” explained Feldman. “We explored how the absence of residual sugar allows the true character of the grape and terroir to shine through, proving that ‘dry’ in January can still be incredibly rich in experience. It was wonderful to see so many embracing this sophisticated twist.”

The evening was further enriched by the elegant backdrop of the Model Home Park, where guests mingled amidst beautifully designed homes, creating a sophisticated yet welcoming atmosphere. Complementing the wine exploration, the event featured live musical performances by talented musicians from The Woodlands Symphony, whose classical melodies added an extra layer of refinement to the tasting experience. A thoughtfully curated selection of small bites, including artisanal cheeses, charcuterie, and savory pastries, was served, expertly chosen to enhance the complex flavors of the dry wines.

Organized by The Woodlands Hills, a sprawling 2,000-acre master-planned community developed by Howard Hughes Holdings, the event underscored the community’s commitment to fostering vibrant social connections and offering diverse, enriching experiences to its residents and the wider Montgomery County area.

“Our goal at The Woodlands Hills is to create a true sense of community, and events like this ‘Dry January’ wine tasting are perfect examples of how we bring people together,” said Heath Rushing, Vice President of Development for The Woodlands Hills. “We love offering unique twists on popular trends, and collaborating with local experts like Christine S. Feldman and our fantastic Woodlands Symphony musicians allows us to deliver truly memorable experiences, completely free of charge to attendees.”

While attendance was free, an RSVP was essential due to limited space, highlighting the event’s popularity and successful execution. It provided a perfect opportunity for participants to engage in the social and educational aspects of a wine tasting, learn from a renowned expert, and enjoy live music, all without compromising their “Dry January” resolutions. The event was lauded by attendees as a creative and refreshing way to navigate the first month of the year.
