CONROE, TX – The Montgomery County Fair has earned the prestigious “Best Overall Event” award from the Texas Association of Fairs and Events (TAFE), a monumental achievement announced earlier this month at the TAFE 2024 Annual Conference in Galveston. This top honor recognizes the outstanding quality and execution of the 2023 Montgomery County Fair, solidifying its reputation as a premier event in the state.

The “Best Overall Event” accolade is particularly significant for the Montgomery County Fair, which operates as a Class III fair, designated for events with annual attendance between 10,000 and 49,999 people. This recognition underscores the fair’s exceptional performance and dedication to excellence within its category.

Beyond the top prize, the Montgomery County Fair demonstrated broad strength across numerous categories, cleaning up in its class with multiple awards. It secured first-place ribbons for Best Website, Best Agricultural Program/Exhibit, and Best Promotional Poster. The fair’s innovative spirit and commitment to quality were further recognized with second-place honors for both Best Logo and Best Event Photography. Rounding out its impressive haul, the fair also earned third place for Best Promotional TV Ad, Best Educational Program, Best Photo Competition, and Best New or Unique Program.

Kimberly Bayless, the General Manager for the Montgomery County Fair, expressed immense pride and excitement over the statewide recognition. “This is a testament to the incredible dedication of our tireless staff, the hundreds of devoted volunteers, and the unwavering support from our entire community,” Bayless stated. “Every single person involved pours their heart into making this fair a truly special experience, and to be acknowledged by our peers at TAFE is incredibly rewarding.”

D.L. Mundy, the 2024 Fair President, echoed Bayless’s sentiments, emphasizing the core mission driving the fair’s success. “These awards truly underscore the hard work and passion invested in creating a premier event, one that remains deeply focused on promoting youth education and agriculture,” Mundy said. “Our commitment to fostering the next generation of leaders and supporting agricultural traditions is at the heart of everything we do.”

The Montgomery County Fair remains a cornerstone of the community, dedicated to providing significant scholarship opportunities for local students while celebrating the rich heritage of youth and agriculture. The organization’s focus on these pillars has clearly resonated with both its attendees and industry peers.

Looking ahead, the community is invited to experience the award-winning spirit firsthand at the upcoming 2024 Montgomery County Fair, scheduled to run from Friday, April 12, to Sunday, April 21, at the Montgomery County Fairgrounds in Conroe. Attendees can anticipate another exciting lineup of events, exhibits, and educational opportunities designed to engage and inspire.
