Conroe-Montgomery Home Sales Jump 14.6% in Dec

**Conroe-Montgomery Housing Market Sees Strong Sales Surge, Prices Hold Steady in December 2025**

**CONROE, TX** – The housing market in the Conroe-Montgomery area closed out 2025 on a high note, demonstrating robust buyer activity with a significant increase in home sales while median prices remained remarkably stable. New data from the Houston Association of Realtors (HAR) reveals a healthy demand for homes in the region, signaling continued optimism.

December 2025 saw a total of 227 homes change hands, a noticeable jump from the 198 homes sold in December 2024. This represents a solid 14.6% year-over-year increase, underscoring a resilient market heading into the new year.

Despite the uptick in sales volume, home prices in the Conroe-Montgomery area maintained a steady pace. The median home price for December 2025 reached $356,500, a marginal 0.4% rise from the $355,000 recorded in December 2024. This stability suggests a market where demand is met without leading to rapid price appreciation, a positive indicator for both buyers and long-term market health.

“The December numbers are fantastic news for the Conroe-Montgomery area,” said Maria Rodriguez, lead broker at Conroe Premier Realty. “To see such a strong increase in sales volume without a corresponding spike in prices tells us that buyer confidence is high, and the market is absorbing new inventory effectively. It’s a very attractive environment for both those looking to buy and those considering selling, offering more predictability.”

While sales soared, properties did spend slightly more time on the market. In December 2025, homes averaged 57 days on the market before selling, a modest increase from 55 days in December 2024, representing a 3.6% rise. Inventory also saw an increase, reaching 2.8 months of available homes in December 2025, up from 2.4 months in the prior year – a 16.7% increase. For context, a balanced market typically hovers around 6 to 6.5 months of inventory. This slight uptick in days on market and inventory suggests the market, while still favoring sellers, is slowly moving towards a more sustainable equilibrium.

“The Conroe-Montgomery area continues to be a hotspot for growth, driven by its excellent quality of life, proximity to Houston, and expanding job opportunities,” commented John Chen, Director of Market Research for the Houston Association of Realtors (HAR). “The slight increase in days on market and inventory, while still historically low, indicates that the frenetic pace of recent years might be moderating, offering a bit more breathing room for buyers to make informed decisions. We’re observing a healthy underlying demand supported by ongoing population migration and new economic development.”

Experts attribute the area’s sustained housing demand to several factors, including its appealing school districts, burgeoning retail and dining options, and the overall economic expansion across Montgomery County. Lower interest rates throughout 2025 compared to earlier periods may have also contributed to renewed buyer enthusiasm.

Looking ahead, local real estate professionals anticipate the Conroe-Montgomery market will maintain its positive momentum into the spring buying season. Prospective buyers and sellers are encouraged to consult with local real estate experts to navigate the evolving market conditions.
