**Montgomery County Republican Women’s Club Kicks Off 2024 with Record-Breaking Luncheon**

**MONTGOMERY, TX** – The Montgomery County Republican Women’s Club (MCRW) launched its 2024 calendar with unprecedented success, hosting its annual Kick-Off Luncheon on Tuesday, January 9th, at the Bentwater Yacht Club. The event drew over 180 members and guests, marking the largest turnout for a kick-off luncheon in the club’s history, setting an enthusiastic tone for the year ahead.

The sold-out gathering featured Harris County Precinct 4 Commissioner Lesley Briones as the keynote speaker. Commissioner Briones, elected in 2022 and known for her focus on infrastructure, public safety, and community engagement in a diverse area of Harris County, delivered a compelling address. Her speech emphasized the importance of bridging divides and finding common ground, while also offering attendees an insightful look into local issues and the operational complexities of Precinct 4. Her appearance as an out-of-county official underscored a broader message of regional collaboration and shared governance challenges.

The event served as a strong demonstration of support for the MCRW, drawing a significant contingent of local and state officials. Among the prominent attendees were State Representatives Will Metcalf (District 16) and Steve Toth (District 15), Montgomery County Judge Mark Keough, County Commissioners James Noack (Precinct 2) and Robert Walker (Precinct 1), along with County Attorney B. D. Sadler, District Attorney Brett Ligon, and Sheriff Rand Henderson. Further reinforcing the club’s reach, various constables, justices of the peace, and city leaders from across Montgomery County, including City of Montgomery Mayor Sara Countryman and Conroe City Councilman Harry Hardman, were also present.

MCRW President Suzy Pukys addressed the enthusiastic crowd, reiterating the club’s steadfast commitment to community service and expanding its outreach efforts throughout the county. Pukys highlighted the MCRW’s primary goals for the year: supporting Republican candidates in upcoming elections and fostering greater civic engagement among residents. “Our record turnout today is a testament to the passion and dedication of our members,” Pukys stated, “and it fuels our resolve to make an even greater impact in promoting Republican principles and strengthening our community in this critical election year.”

The Montgomery County Republican Women’s Club, dedicated to informing the electorate, promoting Republican women, and providing a forum for political involvement, typically holds monthly luncheons featuring notable speakers. Established as a pivotal organization within Montgomery County’s political landscape, the MCRW plays an active role in local and state-level political discourse.

Looking ahead, the MCRW has already scheduled its next luncheon for Tuesday, February 13th. The featured speaker will be Fort Bend County Commissioner Pct. 3, Andy Meyers, a long-serving official known for his conservative fiscal policies. Commissioner Meyers is slated to discuss the timely and critical topic of “Property Rights & Eminent Domain,” an issue of significant interest to Texas landowners.
