Conroe ISD Board Approves 2024-2025 Instructional Calendar Following Extensive Community Feedback

CONROE, TX – The Conroe ISD Board of Trustees officially approved the 2024-2025 instructional calendar on December 12, 2023, following a robust two-week public feedback period that saw more than 10,000 community members participate. Option A, which garnered 74% of the votes, was adopted for all Conroe ISD campuses, setting the academic schedule for the upcoming school year.

District officials expressed appreciation for the significant community engagement, noting that the high level of participation ensures the adopted calendar best reflects the diverse needs and preferences of Conroe ISD families and staff. The feedback period, which ran from November 13 to November 27, 2023, allowed parents, students, and employees to weigh in on two proposed calendar options, which typically differ on start and end dates, length of breaks, and placement of professional development days.

Under the newly approved calendar, students across Conroe ISD will begin the 2024-2025 academic year on Wednesday, August 14, 2024. The last day of school for students is scheduled for Friday, May 23, 2025.

Key dates for families to mark include:
* **Thanksgiving Break:** A full week off, running from Monday, November 25, to Friday, November 29, 2024.
* **Winter Break:** Students will be off from Monday, December 23, 2024, through Friday, January 3, 2025. Staff will return for a professional development day on Monday, January 6, 2025, which is a student holiday, with students resuming classes on Tuesday, January 7, 2025.
* **Spring Break:** Scheduled for Monday, March 10, to Friday, March 14, 2025.

Several student holidays are combined with staff development days throughout the year, providing professional learning opportunities for educators while offering breaks for students. These dates include:
