**Stabbing Incident at Grand Oaks High Sends Student to Hospital; Suspect Detained**

SPRING, TX – A student at Grand Oaks High School was hospitalized Friday, February 2nd, after a stabbing incident occurred on campus, leading to the swift arrest and charging of another student.

The incident unfolded around 11 a.m. near the portable buildings at the high school, located at 4800 Riley Fuzzel Road in Spring. The victim, a male student, sustained a stab wound and was immediately transported to HCA Houston Healthcare Conroe. Authorities reported he is in stable condition.

Deputies with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) rapidly responded to the scene. Within a short time, they detained another student, a 15-year-old male, in connection with the altercation. A knife, believed to be the weapon used, was recovered on campus.

The suspect has been charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon and is currently being held at the Montgomery County Juvenile Detention Center. He was scheduled to appear in court this past Monday, February 5th.

Sheriff Rand Henderson addressed the community regarding the incident, stating that investigators believe the stabbing was not a random act. “This appears to be an isolated incident between the two students involved,” Sheriff Henderson confirmed, assuring residents that there is no ongoing threat to the school or its students.

Conroe ISD Superintendent Dr. Curtis Null echoed the sentiment, praising the swift response of school staff and law enforcement. He confirmed that Grand Oaks High School was quickly secured following the incident. While there was an increased law enforcement presence on campus for the remainder of the day, instructional activities continued without further disruption.

Grand Oaks High School, which opened in 2018, serves students in the rapidly growing Spring area as part of the Conroe Independent School District. The MCSO’s investigation into the full circumstances surrounding the incident remains ongoing. The district stated that they are cooperating fully with law enforcement and will provide support services to students and staff affected by the event.
