Woodlands Wine & Food Week & Galas

The Woodlands is gearing up for an exceptionally vibrant weekend, highlighted by the 20th annual Wine & Food Week, which kicks off on June 5 and runs through June 9. This milestone year, themed “Celebrating 20 Years of Sips & Suppers,” promises a diverse array of culinary and wine experiences across various venues, all orchestrated by Food & Vine Time Productions, led by founders Constance and Clifton McDerby.

The festivities begin in earnest with the flagship H-E-B Wine Walk at Market Street, scheduled for Thursday, June 6, from 5 PM to 8 PM. This signature event transforms Market Street into a lively promenade, featuring offerings from over 40 local restaurants and more than 30 wineries. Attendees can also explore craft breweries, enjoy live music, encounter street performers, and browse art installations, creating a dynamic and immersive atmosphere.

Beyond the Wine Walk, the festival continues with several other key happenings designed to cater to a variety of tastes:

The Ladies of the Vine Luncheon takes place on Friday, June 7, at The Woodlands Resort. This event provides a platform for networking and celebrating the achievements of women in the culinary and wine industries, often featuring acclaimed speakers and sommeliers.

Later that same day, Friday, June 7, The Woodlands Waterway Marriott Hotel & Convention Center hosts Sips, Suds & Sizzle outdoors. This event offers a more casual, backyard-style experience with a focus on grilled delights, craft beers, and a selection of wines in a relaxed setting.

Immediately following Sips, Suds & Sizzle, indoors at the same Marriott location, is The Platinum Wine Vault Luxury Tasting. This exclusive event is tailored for connoisseurs, presenting a curated selection of rare and high-end wines from around the world, often accompanied by gourmet appetizers.

The culmination of Wine & Food Week is The Grand Tasting, held on Saturday, June 8, back at The Woodlands Waterway Marriott. This expansive event brings together acclaimed chefs, sommeliers, and thousands of wines, offering attendees an unparalleled opportunity to sample a vast array of vintages and culinary creations.

A significant portion of the proceeds from Wine & Food Week will benefit New Danville, a local non-profit organization dedicated to providing a master-planned community for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, supporting their independence and quality of life. Saturday, June 8, is also a prominent evening for charitable giving in The Woodlands, with two major galas running concurrently, each supporting vital causes.

The Huntsman Gala will take place at The Woodlands Waterway Marriott Hotel & Convention Center. The evening commences with a cocktail reception at 6:30 PM, followed by dinner and the program at 7:30 PM. This year, the gala is honoring Dr. Michael Wang, a distinguished director of Lymphoma and Myeloma at MD Anderson Cancer Center. All funds raised directly support MD Anderson’s crucial Lymphoma and Myeloma research, contributing to advancements in cancer treatment and patient care. More information or involvement opportunities can be found at gives.mdanderson.org/huntsmangala.

Meanwhile, the Inspire Arts & Culture Gala will be held at The Woodlands Resort on the same evening. Their pre-gala reception starts at 6 PM, leading into the main gala at 7 PM. This event is dedicated to honoring Dr. Don Stockton, former Conroe ISD Superintendent and a long-time, ardent supporter of arts within the Conroe Independent School District and the wider Montgomery County community. The gala’s mission is to raise funds to support arts education and cultural programming across Montgomery County, fostering creativity and enriching the local cultural landscape. The upcoming weekend promises to be a remarkable blend of culinary excellence, community celebration, and significant philanthropic endeavors, underscoring The Woodlands’ vibrant spirit and commitment to both leisure and charity.
