Conroe-Spring Business Closures and Renovation

**Conroe and Spring Areas See Multiple Business Closures, One Renovation Project**

The Conroe and Spring communities have experienced a notable shake-up in their local business landscape this past week, with at least four well-known establishments reportedly ceasing operations permanently. Amidst the closures, one popular fast-food spot in Spring has temporarily paused service for significant renovations.

In Conroe, residents have observed the closure of two distinct dining options. The **Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen** at 1205 Grand Central Parkway has reportedly shut down as of February 11th. The building is now visibly vacant, and according to local real estate firm Moody Rambin, it is actively listed for lease. Further confirmation comes from the absence of this location on Popeyes’ corporate website, signaling a permanent cessation of operations.

Just down the road, the **Bavarian Grill** at 2330 FM 1488 also appears to have closed its doors around the same time. While its social media presence has been inactive since last August, the restaurant’s phone number is now disconnected, and the property shows no signs of active business, leading to the assumption of a recent, permanent closure. The Bavarian Grill had been a fixture for those seeking German cuisine in the area.

South of Conroe, in Spring, several businesses along the busy Interstate 45 corridor have also announced closures. Fans of frozen treats will be disappointed to learn that **Kona Ice of The Woodlands** has permanently closed its location at 25700 Interstate 45 N, effective February 11th. Owner Matt Muscara announced the sale of the business to another local franchisee on January 31st via a Facebook post, stating a shift in focus towards his family and other ventures. While this specific location is no longer operating, the Kona Ice brand may still be represented in the broader Woodlands area by other franchisees.

Just a bit further south on the interstate, the **Hooters** restaurant at 20633 Interstate 45 N has also confirmed its permanent closure. A sign posted on the door notified patrons, and the location has been removed from the official Hooters website. Both the Kona Ice and Hooters closures in Spring were noted as of February 11th.

However, there’s a positive note for fast-food enthusiasts in Spring. The **Taco Bell** location at 25290 Interstate 45 N is only temporarily closed for renovations, also effective February 11th. A sign on their door directs customers to nearby Taco Bells, including the locations at 19133 Interstate 45 S or 6120 FM 1488, while the Spring restaurant undergoes a refresh. An estimated reopening date has not yet been announced, but the closure is expected to be temporary while the upgrades are completed.

These recent changes highlight the dynamic nature of the commercial landscape in the rapidly growing Conroe and Spring areas, with established names making way for new opportunities and evolving business strategies.
