**”Amazingly Possible!”: CYT Houston’s Inclusive “Cinderella” Shines in Conroe**

CONROE, TX – Christian Youth Theater (CYT) Houston is set to captivate audiences in Conroe this March with their unique and heartwarming production of “Amazingly Possible! Cinderella Class Act.” This family-friendly show, running for one weekend only at the historic Crighton Theatre, promises a fresh take on the classic fairytale, deeply enriched by a powerful message of inclusion and inner beauty.

Performances are scheduled from Friday, March 1st, through Sunday, March 3rd, 2024, at the Crighton Theatre, located at 234 N. Main St. in Conroe, Texas 77301. The curtain rises at 7 p.m. on Friday, March 1st. On Saturday, March 2nd, audiences have two opportunities to see the show, with a matinee at 2 p.m. and an evening performance at 7 p.m. The final performance is a Sunday matinee at 2 p.m. on March 3rd.

What truly sets this production apart is the integration of CYT Houston’s acclaimed “Class Act” program. This fantastic initiative allows actors with special needs, aged 8-21, to participate in the show alongside the main cast. While inspired by Rodgers and Hammerstein’s “Cinderella,” this version zeroes in on themes of kindness, generosity, and the power of inner beauty, making the inclusion of the Class Act students a profoundly fitting and enriching element for both performers and audience members.

“Seeing our Class Act students grow in confidence, find their voice, and experience the joy of performing is truly the heart of what we do,” shares Angela Durbin, who spearheads the “Class Act” program and serves as its director. “They don’t just participate; they inspire everyone on stage and in the audience, demonstrating that anything is ‘amazingly possible’ with support and belief.”

The production is a true family affair, underscoring the community spirit of CYT Houston. Amanda Durbin takes the helm as director for the main production, with her sister, Amy Durbin, assisting. Their mother, Angela Durbin, as mentioned, leads the impactful “Class Act” program. Adding to the creative team, Heather King directs the music, and Rebecca King crafts the choreography, bringing years of expertise to the stage.

“Directing this particular version of ‘Cinderella’ has been incredibly rewarding,” says Amanda Durbin. “The spirit of our Class Act students truly elevates the story, reminding us all that true beauty and strength come from within and from embracing everyone in our community. It’s more than a show; it’s an experience of collective joy and profound connection.”

CYT Houston is a non-profit organization dedicated to nurturing character and theatrical skills in young people across Montgomery and Harris counties. As part of the nation’s largest youth theater organization, CYT offers a robust schedule of classes, camps, and high-quality productions throughout the year, fostering a supportive environment where young artists can develop their talents and build lifelong friendships. Their commitment extends beyond the stage, aiming to instill values that benefit participants in all aspects of life.
