Pct 2 Constable Opens New Splendora Substation

**Constable Moore Unveils New East Montgomery County Substation to Boost Public Safety, Enhance Response Times**

**SPLENDORA, Texas –** The Montgomery County Precinct 2 Constable’s Office officially cut the ribbon on its new East Montgomery County substation on Monday, May 20th, marking a significant strategic move to better serve the region’s burgeoning population. The new state-of-the-art facility, located at 25950 FM 2090 in Splendora within the New Caney ISD Annex building, was celebrated by local officials and community members alike, with news of its opening reported widely by May 23rd.

Constable David Moore emphasized that the relocation was paramount for effectively addressing the needs of rapidly expanding eastern sections of Precinct 2, which encompass communities such as Plum Grove, Splendora, and Patton Village. The previous office, situated on U.S. 59 near FM 1485, had become increasingly inefficient for deputies to reach these far-flung areas in a timely manner.

“This new substation represents our unwavering commitment to public safety in East Montgomery County,” Constable Moore stated during the ribbon-cutting ceremony. “Our previous location simply wasn’t cutting it anymore with the explosive growth we’re seeing here. This new facility puts our deputies right in the heart of the communities they serve, drastically improving our ability to respond quickly and maintain a visible presence.”

More than just a standard office, the Splendora location functions as a full-service substation. It features dedicated space for deputies, a secure evidence room, administrative offices, and a versatile community room. This community space is specifically designed to host a variety of public events, from crucial DWI task force meetings to citizen engagement programs aimed at fostering stronger relationships between law enforcement and residents.

“The community room is a cornerstone of our strategy to not just patrol, but also to truly connect with the people we protect,” Moore added. “We envision it as a hub for dialogue, education, and collaboration on public safety initiatives.”

The strategic partnership with New Caney ISD for the facility’s location was highlighted as a key benefit for both entities. Dr. Matt Calvert, Superintendent of New Caney ISD, expressed enthusiasm for the collaboration. “Having the Precinct 2 Constable’s substation on our campus annex provides an invaluable resource for school safety and overall community security,” Dr. Calvert said. “It enhances our ability to work closely with law enforcement and ensures a visible presence that benefits our students, staff, and the entire district.”

Montgomery County Commissioner Robert Walker, whose precinct encompasses much of East Montgomery County, lauded the move as a wise investment of taxpayer dollars. “This new substation is a testament to proactive governance addressing the needs of our constituents,” Commissioner Walker noted. “The eastern part of our county is experiencing unprecedented growth, and ensuring public safety infrastructure keeps pace is critical. This facility will undoubtedly contribute to lower crime rates and a greater sense of security for our residents.”

Indeed, Montgomery County consistently ranks among the fastest-growing counties in Texas, with areas like Splendora and Plum Grove seeing significant residential development and an influx of new families. The increased traffic and population density place a greater demand on emergency services, making the relocation a timely and necessary adjustment.

Residents like Maria Sanchez, who has lived in Splendora for over two decades, welcomed the news. “It’s good to know the deputies will be closer,” Sanchez commented. “Sometimes it felt like help was a long way off. This makes us feel safer.”

Moore reiterated that the more central location allows deputies to begin and end their shifts closer to their patrol zones, thereby boosting their overall street presence and significantly improving response times for residents across that expanding corner of Montgomery County. The Constable’s Office encourages residents to visit the new substation and take advantage of the upcoming community programs.
