Fair Queen Committee Hits $4K Goal, Preps Boots & Bling

**Montgomery County Fair Queen Scholarship Committee Scores Big with Pre-Boots & Bling Fundraiser**

**CONROE, TX –** The Montgomery County Fair Queen Scholarship Committee successfully kicked off its 2024 fundraising efforts with a well-attended Scholarship Fundraiser and Membership Drive this past Sunday, June 9th, at Southern Star Brewery in Conroe. The event, held from 11 AM to 4 PM, generated significant support for local scholarships and boosted engagement for the committee’s upcoming main event.

Attendees enjoyed delicious BBQ plates prepared by Adam Wilson, Pitmaster from Backyard Grill, alongside live music from local artist Kyle Mathis. A silent auction and raffle added to the excitement, offering a variety of items donated by local businesses and community members.

The committee’s goal for the day was twofold: to raise crucial funds for scholarships and to recruit new members to support their larger “Boots & Bling” fundraiser. The event surpassed expectations, pulling in a solid $4,000 for scholarships and bringing 25 new members on board. These new members will play a vital role in the planning and execution of the fall gala.

This successful gathering served as a vital lead-up to the committee’s signature event, the “Boots & Bling” Fundraiser, scheduled for Friday, November 1st, 2024. The gala will begin at 6 PM at the Lone Star Convention & Expo Center, also in Conroe. The evening promises a full experience with dinner, dancing, and both silent and live auctions, all set to the sounds of the renowned Josh Abbott Band.

Committee Chair Heather Brautigam emphasized the long-standing impact of the organization. “This committee has already awarded over $700,000 in scholarships over the years,” Brautigam stated. “Our ambitious target for the upcoming 2024-2025 school year is to hit $100,000 in scholarship awards, and events like these are crucial to reaching that goal.”

Individual tickets for the “Boots & Bling” Fundraiser are available for $100, while tables can be purchased for $1,500. All ticket purchases and further information can be found online at mcfa.org. Community members are encouraged to attend and support the committee’s mission to empower local youth through educational opportunities.
