Woodlands Luxury Home Burglar Suspect Sought

**MCSO Intensifies Hunt for Serial Burglar Targeting Multimillion-Dollar Homes in The Woodlands**

**THE WOODLANDS, TX – March 25, 2024** – The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) is actively pursuing a suspect believed to be responsible for a series of high-value burglaries that have rattled affluent communities across The Woodlands since late January. Authorities are urging residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity as the investigation into at least seven separate incidents gains momentum.

Investigators describe the individual as a white or Hispanic male in his late teens or early twenties, characterized by a thin build and dark, short hair. He has been linked to break-ins in prestigious neighborhoods including Carlton Woods, Sterling Ridge, and Cascade Canyon, targeting multimillion-dollar residences, typically when they are unoccupied.

According to MCSO, the string of burglaries began on January 31, 2024, with two homes in Sterling Ridge being hit. Another incident followed in Sterling Ridge on February 17, and a home in Carlton Woods was burglarized on February 27. Most recently, on March 20, 2024, the suspect is believed to have struck two additional homes in Carlton Woods and one in Cascade Canyon, escalating the pattern of criminal activity.

The suspect’s method of entry often involves exploiting unlocked back doors or windows. When these avenues are not available, he resorts to breaking windows to gain access. Once inside, he has reportedly made off with a significant haul of high-value items, including jewelry, designer handbags, substantial amounts of cash, and firearms. The theft of firearms adds a dangerous dimension to these crimes, raising concerns about their potential misuse.

Surveillance footage obtained by investigators has captured the suspect, consistently seen wearing a dark hoodie, black pants, and black sneakers. He is believed to be operating a white Chevrolet Impala, identified as a model from between 2006 and 2013, which has distinctive dark wheels. Authorities have noted that the vehicle’s license plate is frequently obscured or completely removed during the commission of these crimes, a common tactic used to evade identification.

“We are dedicating significant resources from our Major Crimes, Property Crimes, and The Woodlands Patrol Divisions to apprehend this individual,” stated Lieutenant Scott Spencer, Public Information Officer for the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office. “These are brazen acts impacting the sense of security in our community. We believe the public’s help will be critical in bringing this suspect to justice.”

The Woodlands, known for its meticulously planned communities and low crime rates, has seen these incidents prompt renewed calls for residents to review their home security measures. Sheriff’s officials emphasize the importance of ensuring all doors and windows, especially those at the rear of homes, are locked even when residents are only leaving for a short time. Additional recommendations include utilizing alarm systems, exterior lighting, security cameras, and securely storing valuable items, particularly firearms, in safes. Residents are also encouraged to consider participating in neighborhood watch programs and to be mindful of unusual vehicles or individuals in their communities.

The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office is urging anyone with information regarding these burglaries, the suspect, or the vehicle to contact their office immediately. Tips can be provided by calling the MCSO non-emergency line at 936-760-5800 and referencing case number 24A028441. Information can also be submitted anonymously through Montgomery County Crime Stoppers.
