Conroe Cruisers Support Salvation Army Local Programs

Conroe Cruisers Boost Salvation Army Efforts with Generous Holiday Gift

CONROE, TX – The Conroe Cruisers Car Club recently delivered a significant boost to the Salvation Army’s Annual Bell Ringing Campaign, presenting a generous $1,100 donation on December 6, 2023. The contribution, officially made during the club’s regular gathering at Conroe Coffee, is earmarked to support the Salvation Army’s critical programs assisting individuals and families facing hardship right here in Montgomery County.

“We believe in helping our neighbors, and the Salvation Army does incredible work right here in our community,” stated Mark Johnson, President of the Conroe Cruisers Car Club. “Our members are passionate about cars, but even more passionate about making a tangible difference. Knowing this money will directly provide food, warmth, and shelter for local families is incredibly rewarding.”

Captain Michael Smith, Corps Officer for The Salvation Army of Montgomery County, expressed profound gratitude for the donation. “The Conroe Cruisers’ continued support is invaluable, especially during this challenging time of year,” Captain Smith said. “This $1,100 will go a long way in sustaining our programs, which provide everything from hot meals and safe shelter to utility assistance and emergency relief for those struggling to make ends meet in our county. Every dollar helps us serve more people.”

The donation arrived amidst The Salvation Army’s iconic red kettle initiative, which ran from November 10, 2023, through December 23, 2023. This annual campaign is a cornerstone effort to gather essential resources for necessities like food, shelter, and various social services for those in need, particularly during the holiday season and colder months when demand for assistance typically surges. Bell ringers were a familiar sight outside grocery stores and retail outlets across Montgomery County, collecting contributions that remain within the local community to fund local services.

For the Conroe Cruisers, known for their vibrant car shows and deep commitment to local philanthropy, this $1,100 is part of an impressive cumulative total of $10,000 they’ve managed to raise for various local charities throughout 2023. The club’s activities, which often involve displaying classic and custom vehicles, are regularly leveraged to support causes like their “Toys for Kids” initiative, local food banks, and educational programs. Their dedication underscores a consistent effort to make a real, positive impact in their community.

The club raises funds through various events, including annual car shows, cruise-ins, and membership drives, channeling proceeds directly back into Montgomery County.
