**Conroe ISD Board Approves 2024-2025 Instructional Calendar, First Day Set for August 14**

Conroe, TX – The Conroe Independent School District (CISD) Board of Trustees officially approved the 2024-2025 instructional calendar at their meeting on Tuesday, February 20, 2024, setting key dates for students, families, and staff for the upcoming academic year. The calendar, developed with significant community input, outlines 175 instructional days for students and 187 contract days for teachers.

Students in Conroe ISD will begin the 2024-2025 school year on **Wednesday, August 14, 2024**. The academic year is scheduled to conclude on **Thursday, May 22, 2025**, with an early release planned for the final day of school.

The approved calendar incorporates several student holidays and extended breaks designed to offer periods of rest and family time throughout the year:

* **Labor Day:** Monday, September 2, 2024 (No school for students or staff).
* **Fall Break:** Monday, October 14, 2024 (Student holiday; staff will have a workday).
* **Thanksgiving Break:** A full week, from Monday, November 25, through Friday, November 29, 2024.
* **Winter Break:** Kicks off after an early release day on Friday, December 20, 2024. Students will return to class on Tuesday, January 7, 2025.
* **Martin Luther King, Jr. Day:** Monday, January 20, 2025 (No school for students or staff).

Staff will also be working on student holidays like October 14 (Fall Break) and February 17 (Presidents’ Day).

A cornerstone of the calendar’s finalization was extensive community feedback. Conroe ISD engaged parents, staff, and community members in the decision-making process, receiving over 10,000 survey responses on two proposed calendar options. This robust participation played a significant role in shaping the ultimate schedule, reflecting the diverse needs and preferences of the district’s stakeholders.

As is standard practice, the district has built flexible inclement weather make-up days into the calendar to account for unforeseen school closures.
