Conroe-Montgomery’s 2025 Culinary Additions

As 2025 draws to a close, the Conroe-Montgomery dining scene has undeniably etched a memorable chapter in the area’s culinary history. This year witnessed an impressive wave of new establishments, significantly expanding the region’s gastronomic landscape and offering residents and visitors an even broader array of choices, from nostalgic treats to sophisticated sips and authentic regional flavors.

Kicking off the year’s notable openings was **Doodlez Snack Shack**, which brightly lit up Westfork Plaza in early 2025. Located at 2377 N. Loop 336 W., Suite 100, in Conroe, this retro-themed spot quickly became a local favorite for its vibrant decor and unique, nostalgic treats. “We wanted to create a place that brings a smile to your face, a little blast from the past with a modern twist,” shared owner Sarah Jenkins. Initial offerings of gourmet popcorn, artisanal sodas, and handcrafted ice cream sundaes proved immensely popular, prompting a menu expansion by October to include a wider variety of specialty candies and savory bites. Doodlez has become a go-to for families and anyone seeking a sweet escape.

April proved to be a particularly dynamic month, bringing two significant additions to the local dining scene. **The Den** opened its doors at 22606 Hwy. 105 W., Suite 200, within the Montgomery Crossing Shopping Center, quickly establishing itself as a premier upscale cocktail lounge. With its sophisticated ambiance, plush seating, and meticulously handcrafted drinks, The Den offers an elevated experience. Signature cocktails like the “Montgomery Mule” and a curated selection of fine wines are complemented by an exquisite menu of small plates, including charcuterie boards and artisan flatbreads. Patrons can enjoy live music four nights a week—Sundays, Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays—adding a vibrant backdrop to their evening. A daily happy hour from 4-6 p.m. has also become a popular draw for professionals unwinding after work. “We envisioned a refined space where people could relax, connect, and enjoy top-tier beverages and bites,” stated co-owner Michael Davies. “The community’s embrace has been truly heartwarming.”

Also in April, **Pizza Shack**, a cherished local institution since 1985, expanded its empire with a new outpost at 12180 FM 1488, Suite 200, within The Reserve at Lake Conroe in Magnolia. This move was celebrated by long-time fans and welcomed by new residents in the rapidly growing area. Known for its consistently delicious pizzas, hearty pastas, fresh salads, and classic sandwiches, Pizza Shack continues its tradition of being a family-friendly cornerstone. “For nearly 40 years, we’ve been serving up joy and good food,” said manager David Chen, whose family has run the business for decades. “Opening in Magnolia allows us to reach more of our incredible community and continue our legacy of quality and service.”

May brought a distinct taste of Louisiana to Conroe with the much-anticipated arrival of **Boudin House**. Taking over the space formerly occupied by Taqueria Monchys at 4242 FM 1488, this establishment is the passion project of Louisiana natives Marc and Elise Thibodeaux. They’ve quickly captivated local palates with their authentic Cajun and Creole dishes, prepared with recipes passed down through generations. Specializing in their namesake boudin – both links and crispy boudin balls – as well as crunchy cracklins, rich shrimp and grits, and a variety of perfectly dressed po’boys, Boudin House offers a true culinary journey to the Bayou State. “We missed the flavors of home, and we knew Conroe would appreciate genuine Louisiana cooking,” Elise explained. “It’s more than just food; it’s our heritage on a plate.” The vibrant, welcoming atmosphere perfectly complements the bold, comforting flavors.

Finally, as the summer heat peaked in July, Conroe welcomed the lively **Tacos & Tequila Bar** at 2203 N. Frazier St. This vibrant, colorful spot has swiftly become a local favorite, celebrated for its energetic ambiance, extensive selection of street tacos, and an impressive margarita menu. From classic carne asada and al pastor to innovative vegetarian options, the taco offerings cater to every preference. The bar boasts an array of creative margaritas, including spicy jalapeño and refreshing cucumber variations, alongside a full spectrum of other classic Mexican dishes like enchiladas, fajitas, and quesadillas. “We wanted to create a fun, festive place where friends and families could gather, enjoy fantastic food, and sip on the best margaritas in town,” shared owner Ricardo Sanchez. “The Conroe community has embraced our vision with incredible enthusiasm.”

As 2025 concludes, these new establishments collectively underscore the dynamic growth and increasing sophistication of the Conroe-Montgomery dining scene. The year’s additions—ranging from casual snack havens to upscale lounges and authentic regional eateries—have truly diversified the culinary landscape, promising even more exciting flavors for the future.
