Conroe Noon Lions Install New 2024-25 Leadership

**Conroe Noon Lions Club Installs Jason Miller as President, Kicking Off 83rd Year of Service**

Conroe, TX – The Conroe Noon Lions Club officially welcomed its new leadership and commenced its 2024-2025 service year last Thursday, June 20th, with their annual installation banquet. Held at the historic Conroe Tower, located at 111 Simonton Street, the evening celebrated a changing of the guard while reaffirming the club’s deep commitment to the community it has served for over eight decades.

Jason Miller has taken the helm as the club’s new president, succeeding the dedicated Mike Sproba. The ceremony, a cornerstone event in the club’s calendar, saw Miller and a full slate of officers formally installed. Past International Director Dr. Michael McBride, a distinguished figure within Lions Clubs International, conducted the proceedings, emphasizing the global reach and local impact of Lions service. The club is set to move forward under the inspiring theme of “Pride and Tradition.”

“It’s an incredible honor to lead a club with such a rich history and a profound impact on the Conroe area,” said President Miller during his address. “Mike Sproba has set a high bar, and I’m excited to build upon the strong foundation of service he and past presidents have laid. Our theme, ‘Pride and Tradition,’ speaks to the legacy we inherit and the responsibility we feel to uphold the values of Lionism – community, compassion, and tireless dedication.”

Outgoing President Mike Sproba reflected on his term, stating, “It has been a privilege to serve the Conroe Noon Lions Club and our community. I am immensely proud of what we accomplished together and confident that Jason’s leadership, combined with the energy of our fantastic members, will propel the club to even greater heights. The future of service in Conroe is bright with this team.”

Chartered in 1941, the Conroe Noon Lions Club boasts over 80 years of unwavering dedication to the area. While they are widely recognized for their major fundraiser, the annual Texas State Forest Festival, their impact stretches much further. The festival, which draws thousands to Montgomery County each fall, serves as a vital engine, allowing the club to fund a diverse array of community initiatives.

These initiatives include critical vision and hearing programs, providing thousands of screenings and eyeglasses to those in need; robust diabetes awareness campaigns; support for numerous youth organizations, fostering the next generation of leaders; swift local disaster relief efforts, offering aid in times of crisis; consistent contributions to local food banks, addressing food insecurity; and providing life-changing scholarships to local students, helping them achieve their educational dreams.

“The Conroe Noon Lions Club exemplifies the very best of what Lions Clubs International stands for,” remarked Dr. McBride during the installation. “Their commitment to service, their deep roots in the community, and their ‘Pride and Tradition’ are an inspiration to Lions worldwide. It’s truly a beacon of hope and action.”

The club regularly meets every Thursday at noon at the Conroe Tower. These meetings serve as a forum for planning service projects, hearing from community leaders, and fostering fellowship among members.
