Conroe Polling Locations Changed for Election

**Conroe Voters Strongly Urged to Verify Polling Locations Ahead of May 7th General Election**

Conroe residents heading to the polls for the General Election on Tuesday, May 7th, were strongly advised to confirm their designated voting locations due to significant, city-wide changes affecting all five wards. City officials implemented a comprehensive overhaul of polling sites, meaning many voters were directed to entirely new venues to cast ballots for Mayor and Council Members for Places 1, 2, and 3.

The changes were enacted to enhance voter accessibility, improve operational efficiency, and better accommodate Conroe’s growing population, according to city representatives. Previous polling sites, including Conroe City Hall and various community centers, had faced challenges related to space constraints, parking, and potential congestion during peak voting hours.

“We understand that changes to established routines can be challenging, but these adjustments were made with the voter experience firmly in mind,” stated City Secretary Soco Gorjon. “Our aim is to provide more suitable and accessible venues for our community to exercise their democratic right. We have worked diligently to inform residents through various channels, and we urge everyone to take a moment to verify their polling place before heading out on Election Day.”

For those planning to vote on Election Day, May 7th, the previously established polling sites were entirely re-designated. Here are the new locations where voters were directed:

* **Ward 1:** Moved from Conroe City Hall to Conroe Church of Christ, located at 1860 Longmire Rd.
* **Ward 2:** Also shifted from Conroe City Hall to Spirit of Joy Lutheran Church, located at 16223 FM 2854.
* **Ward 3:** Changed from the South Montgomery County Community Center to First Presbyterian Church, located at 2727 N Loop 336 W.
* **Ward 4:** Relocated from the South Montgomery County Community Center to First Baptist Church, located at 600 N Main St.
* **Ward 5:** No longer at the North County Community Center but at West Tabernacle Church, located at 1922 Wilson Rd.

To mitigate potential confusion, the City of Conroe emphasized that voter registration cards might list outdated polling places. Residents were strongly encouraged to verify their correct ward and the associated new voting location.

Early voting for the election ran from April 25th through May 3rd, with the sole early voting location being Conroe City Hall at 300 W. Davis St. on weekdays from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

The deadline to register to vote for this election had been April 7th.

For confirmation of polling locations or any other election-related inquiries, residents could contact the City Secretary’s office directly at 936-522-3000. Additionally, comprehensive election information, including a voter lookup tool and detailed maps, was available on the official city website at cityofconroe.org. Officials hoped that early and clear communication of these changes would help ensure a smooth and orderly election process for all Conroe voters.
