Conroe St. Patrick’s Day Honors Music Legend Worsham

**Conroe Prepares for St. Patrick’s Day Celebration with Special Tribute to Music Legend Bill Worsham**

**CONROE, TX –** Downtown Conroe is set to transform into a sea of green and lively entertainment this Saturday, March 16th, as Heritage Place Park hosts its annual St. Patrick’s Day Celebration. Running from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., the free event promises a full day of festivities, highlighted by a special tribute to the late Bill Worsham, affectionately known as “The Godfather of Conroe Music.”

Organized by the Friends of Conroe, this year’s celebration will honor Worsham, a pillar of the community and instrumental figure in establishing Conroe’s vibrant music scene, who passed away last May at 93.

“Bill Worsham’s legacy in Conroe is immeasurable,” said Shannon Mills, Executive Director for the Friends of Conroe. “From founding the Conroe Cajun Catfish Festival to helping launch the Sounds of Texas Music Series, he truly shaped our city’s cultural identity. It’s only fitting that we celebrate his life and contributions during an event that brings so much joy and community spirit to Conroe.”

The heartfelt tribute to Worsham is scheduled for 1 p.m. on the main stage, where his son, William Worsham, will be recognized and share memories of his father’s profound impact. Bill Worsham’s dedication not only brought renowned musicians to Conroe but also fostered local talent, leaving an enduring mark on generations of artists and music lovers.

Beyond the tribute, attendees can look forward to a packed schedule of entertainment and activities. Live music will fill Heritage Place Park, located at 500 Collins Street, starting with the authentic Irish sounds of The Black Emeralds. They will be followed by the high-energy folk-rock of Whiskey Daze, culminating with the crowd-pleasing classic hits performed by The FAB 5.

Families will find plenty to keep the younger crowd entertained in the dedicated kids’ activity zone, featuring various games and interactive fun. Children are also encouraged to participate in the always popular leprechaun costume contest, with prizes for the most creative green outfits.

For those seeking a bit of friendly competition, a cornhole tournament is on the agenda. Registration for the tournament will be available on-site, with specific details to be announced at the event. Throughout the day, a diverse array of vendor booths will showcase local artisans, crafts, and goods, alongside a tempting selection of food trucks offering everything from festive snacks to full meals.

Admission to the St. Patrick’s Day Celebration is entirely free, and ample free parking will be available throughout downtown Conroe, making it easy for everyone to join the festivities. Attendees are encouraged to wear their finest green attire and immerse themselves in the celebration of Irish culture and community spirit.

“We invite everyone to come down to Heritage Place Park this Saturday,” added Mills. “It’s a wonderful opportunity to enjoy some fantastic music, celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with your neighbors, and join us in remembering Bill Worsham, a true Conroe legend.”
