**Frontier Airlines Unveils Major International Expansion from IAH, Adding Four New Routes to Latin America**

**Houston, TX – April 15, 2024** – Frontier Airlines is significantly bolstering its international presence at George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH), announcing a substantial expansion with four new nonstop routes to key cities across Mexico, El Salvador, and Guatemala. This strategic move aims to strengthen Houston’s direct connectivity to Latin America and offer more affordable travel options for area residents.

The first wave of new international services is set to launch in mid-May. Starting **Thursday, May 16th**, Frontier will inaugurate service to **Monterrey, Mexico (MTY)**, with flights operating three times a week. On the very same day, **May 16th**, the airline will also commence new flights to **San Salvador, El Salvador (SAL)**, also scheduled three times weekly. Just a day later, on **Friday, May 17th**, Frontier will add another destination: **Guatemala City, Guatemala (GUA)**, with flights planned four times a week.

Looking ahead to the summer, the airline will introduce daily service to **Mexico City (MEX)**, one of Latin America’s busiest hubs, beginning **Thursday, July 11th**. This offers a frequent, seven-times-a-week connection to Mexico’s capital. All of these new international flights will be operated using Frontier’s fuel-efficient Airbus A320 family aircraft.

“We are thrilled to bring our ‘Low Fares Done Right’ philosophy to more international destinations from Houston,” said Daniel Shurz, Senior Vice President of Commercial at Frontier Airlines. “This expansion underscores our commitment to providing affordable and convenient travel, especially for the robust VFR (Visiting Friends and Relatives) market and growing business ties between Houston and these vibrant Latin American cities. We believe these routes will not only connect families and friends but also stimulate tourism and economic exchange, making international travel more accessible than ever before.”

This move marks a significant step for IAH, with airport director Mario Rodriguez highlighting its importance. “This is a game-changer for IAH and the entire Houston region,” said Mario Rodriguez, Director of Houston Airports. “Frontier’s significant investment in new international service strengthens Houston’s position as a premier gateway to Latin America. These direct flights offer our diverse community unparalleled access and convenience, reinforcing our commitment to connecting Houston to the world and fostering economic prosperity across our city and beyond.”

The expansion is part of Frontier’s broader strategy to increase its international footprint, particularly in markets it identifies as underserved with high demand for its ultra-low-cost model. Prior to these additions, Frontier already served 13 domestic destinations from IAH, making these new international routes a notable increase in its global reach from Houston.

Tickets for the new international flights are now available for purchase on Frontier Airlines’ website. Travelers are encouraged to book early for the best fares. For more information and to view flight schedules, visit FlyFrontier.com.
