Grand Oaks HS Stabbing: Student Arrested, Victim Stable

**Teen Stabbed at Grand Oaks High School; Suspect Arrested in Isolated Incident**

SPRING, Texas – A 15-year-old male student was stabbed multiple times Thursday afternoon at Grand Oaks High School, prompting an immediate lockdown and a swift response from multiple law enforcement agencies. The victim, whose identity has not been released, was transported to a local hospital and is in stable condition with non-life-threatening injuries.

The incident occurred around 12:30 p.m. on November 30, 2023, in a restroom on the campus located at 4800 Riley Fuzzel Road. Conroe ISD Chief of Police William W. Webb confirmed the location of the assault during a subsequent press conference.

Authorities quickly apprehended a suspect, also a 15-year-old male student, “without incident” shortly after the stabbing. The suspect has been charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and was booked into the Montgomery County Juvenile Detention Center. A fixed-blade knife, believed to be the weapon used in the assault, was recovered at the scene.

Conroe ISD acted promptly, sending out notifications to parents via email and text message at approximately 12:45 p.m., informing them of a “student related incident” and the subsequent lockdown. The swift communication aimed to keep families informed while law enforcement secured the campus.

Numerous agencies converged on Grand Oaks High School, including the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, the Conroe ISD Police Department, and Precinct 3 Constables. Their rapid coordination ensured the scene was contained and secured efficiently. The lockdown was lifted around 2 p.m., allowing student dismissal to proceed as scheduled, albeit with an increased law enforcement presence to ensure a smooth and safe departure for all students.

Conroe ISD Superintendent Dr. Curtis Null addressed the community, emphasizing that the incident appeared to be an isolated event between two students and that there was no ongoing threat to the campus or the wider community. “Our top priority is the safety and well-being of our students and staff,” Dr. Null stated, commending the quick actions of school staff and law enforcement.

In the aftermath of the distressing event, counseling services have been made available to students and staff to help them process the incident and provide necessary emotional support. Grand Oaks High School, like all Conroe ISD campuses, is committed to fostering a safe learning environment, and officials stressed that such incidents are taken with the utmost seriousness.

The investigation into the stabbing remains ongoing. Further details are expected as authorities continue their work. For more information on school safety protocols and support services, parents and guardians are encouraged to visit the official Conroe ISD website.
