**Female Student Charged After Stabbing Incident Shakes Grand Oaks High School**

**CONROE, TX – May 17, 2024** – A serious incident at Grand Oaks High School on Friday afternoon left a male student hospitalized and a female student facing felony charges, sending shockwaves through the Conroe ISD community. The stabbing, which occurred in a school hallway, prompted an immediate campus lockdown and an outpouring of concern from district officials and parents alike.

Authorities confirm that at approximately 12:45 p.m., a male student was stabbed in a hallway at the school, located at 4800 Riley Fuzzel Rd. in Conroe. Emergency services responded swiftly, and the victim was airlifted by LifeFlight to Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston. As of Friday evening, he is reported to be in stable condition.

Conroe ISD Police Department officials moved quickly, taking a female student into custody shortly after the incident. She has since been identified and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Investigators confirmed that a knife was used in the attack. Due to the ongoing investigation and the involvement of minors, further details regarding the students’ identities are not being released at this time.

In the immediate aftermath, the campus was placed on a full lockdown to ensure the safety of all students and staff. This status later transitioned to a “secure the building” protocol before students were released early for the remainder of the day. “Our hearts go out to the victim and his family, and to all students and staff who witnessed or were impacted by this disturbing event,” Dr. Null stated in his communication. “The safety and well-being of our students and staff are always our top priorities. We are mobilizing all available resources, including counselors and mental health professionals, to support our school community through this challenging time.”

The Conroe ISD Police Department is leading the investigation into the full circumstances surrounding the stabbing, including the motive behind the attack. Officials have not released additional details, stating the investigation is active and ongoing.
