CONROE, TX – Habitat for Humanity of Montgomery County (Habitat MCTX) has unveiled its distinguished honorees for the upcoming 2026 Building Hope Gala, a critical fundraising event celebrating pillars of support for affordable housing in the community. Long-standing champions of the organization, Mike and Mary Ann Fox, will be recognized as Community Honorees, while Woodforest National Bank will receive the Corporate Honoree distinction.

The highly anticipated gala is set for Saturday, May 10, 2025, at The Woodlands Waterway Marriott Hotel & Convention Center. Proceeds from the evening will directly support Habitat MCTX’s mission to build and repair homes for families in need across Montgomery County.

Mike and Mary Ann Fox embody the spirit of community service that is vital to Habitat MCTX’s success. Mike Fox’s leadership as Board President from 2018 to 2020 was instrumental in guiding the organization through a period of significant growth and strategic development. His vision helped expand Habitat MCTX’s reach and impact. Mary Ann Fox is a tireless volunteer, dedicating countless hours at the Habitat ReStore, serving on various committees that shape community outreach and volunteer engagement, and actively participating in home build sites. Their combined efforts have not only raised significant funds but have also fostered deeper community engagement, inspiring others to join the cause of affordable housing.

“Mike and Mary Ann have been unwavering in their commitment to our mission for many years,” stated Vicki Johnson, CEO of Habitat MCTX. “Their hands-on dedication, leadership, and personal investment have profoundly impacted the lives of numerous families, demonstrating that a stable home is the foundation for a stable future.”

Woodforest National Bank’s partnership with Habitat MCTX spans an impressive three decades, showcasing a deep-rooted commitment to corporate social responsibility within Montgomery County. As a founding sponsor of the Building Hope Gala, their support has been foundational to the event’s success. Beyond financial contributions, Woodforest National Bank provides invaluable financial literacy education to future Habitat homeowners, equipping them with the knowledge and tools necessary for long-term financial stability and successful homeownership. Their employees consistently mobilize for volunteer projects, lending their time and skills on build sites and in various community initiatives, further solidifying their role as a true community partner.

“Woodforest National Bank’s enduring partnership is a testament to their belief in our mission,” Johnson added. “Their support, from being a founding gala sponsor to providing essential financial education and mobilizing volunteers, has been absolutely central to making affordable housing a reality across Montgomery County.”

Deb and Paul St. John have graciously accepted the role of Gala Chairs for this year’s event, bringing their energy and dedication to ensuring a memorable and impactful evening. Their leadership will be crucial in orchestrating a successful fundraiser that directly translates into homes and hope for local families.

Since its inception in 1989, Habitat MCTX has proudly built over 200 homes in Montgomery County, transforming lives by providing safe, affordable places to live. In an era where rising housing costs continue to challenge families throughout the region, the organization’s work is more critical than ever. Habitat MCTX offers a hand up, not a handout, empowering families through homeownership and strengthening the fabric of the entire community. The funds raised at the Building Hope Gala will directly support the construction of new homes, critical home repairs, and homeowner education programs.
