Harry Hardman Campaigns for Municipal Judge

**Conroe Councilman Harry Hardman Launches Bid for Municipal Judge, Focuses on Court Modernization**

Conroe, TX – Conroe City Councilman Harry Hardman has officially announced his candidacy for Conroe Municipal Judge in the upcoming May 4, 2024, municipal election. Hardman, who currently represents City Council Position 1, is seeking to fill the unexpired two-year term left vacant by the recent resignation of Judge Vance.

Hardman’s campaign centers on a platform of modernizing and improving the efficiency of the municipal court system. He emphasizes leveraging new technology to streamline processes, aiming to significantly reduce wait times for citizens and make the court more accessible and understandable for all residents.

“Our municipal court needs a strong leader with a clear vision to move forward,” Hardman stated in his announcement. “I believe my extensive experience in law enforcement and my commitment to public service have prepared me to bring the necessary changes to ensure our court system is fair, efficient, and responsive to the community’s needs.”

Should Hardman win the judgeship, he would be required to resign from his current City Council seat, which he holds until May 2026. However, if his campaign is unsuccessful, he would retain his council position.

A longtime resident with deep ties to the community, Hardman brings a significant background in public service to his judicial bid. He retired as a Captain from the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office after 25 years of service, where he gained extensive experience across various divisions including patrol, investigations, and training. Hardman is also a proud U.S. Army veteran. His supporters point to his law enforcement career as evidence of his understanding of legal processes, public safety, and community dynamics – all critical for a municipal judge.

Beyond technological upgrades, Hardman plans to focus on community engagement. He aims to work closely with local groups and introduce educational initiatives, particularly for young drivers. These programs would offer alternatives to standard fines for certain infractions, emphasizing education and rehabilitation over punitive measures alone. He envisions a court that not only adjudicates but also proactively contributes to community well-being and responsible citizenship.

The Conroe Municipal Court plays a crucial role in local governance, handling traffic violations, city ordinance infractions, and certain misdemeanor cases punishable by fine. The municipal judge presides over these cases, ensuring adherence to city ordinances and state laws.

For Conroe residents, the election schedule is as follows:
* **Early Voting:** April 22-30, 2024
* **Election Day:** May 4, 2024

The deadline to register to vote for this municipal election was April 4, 2024. Voters are encouraged to visit the City of Conroe website (ConroeTX.gov) or the Montgomery County Elections Administrator’s website (MontgomeryCountyTX.gov/elections) for information on polling locations and other election details.

As the May 4 election draws closer, Hardman is expected to intensify his campaign efforts, outlining his vision for a modernized and more community-focused Conroe Municipal Court. The field of candidates for the judicial position is expected to present Conroe voters with a critical choice for the city’s legal landscape.
