Hawaiian Icehouse Opens in Conroe

**The Hawaiian Icehouse Brings Authentic Island Cool to Conroe**

**CONROE, TX – June 18, 2024** – Conroe residents now have a new way to beat the Texas heat with a taste of the tropics, as The Hawaiian Icehouse officially celebrated its grand opening on Saturday, June 15. Located at 1210 N. Loop 336 W., right next to Conroe High School, the new establishment promises an authentic Hawaiian shaved ice experience unlike any other in the area.

This isn’t your average snow cone stand. The Hawaiian Icehouse prides itself on serving finely shaved ice, which, unlike the coarser ice of traditional snow cones, absorbs their rich, homemade syrups for a smoother, melt-in-your-mouth texture. Co-owner Sarah Miller, who opened the business with her husband John, explained the distinction. “We fell in love with authentic Hawaiian shaved ice on a trip to the islands, and we knew Conroe deserved to experience that same quality and unique flavor,” Miller said. “It’s all about the texture of the ice and the depth of flavor in our syrups.”

The heart of their offering lies in an impressive array of over 60 homemade syrups, crafted daily with a commitment to natural flavors. Patrons can choose from classic fruit flavors to more exotic Hawaiian-inspired options like Lilikoi (passion fruit), Guava, and Coconut, ensuring there’s a taste for every palate. For an extra treat, customers can get their shaved ice “stuffed” with vanilla, chocolate, or strawberry ice cream nestled in the center, or crowned with a “snow cap” of sweetened condensed milk for an added layer of creamy indulgence.

The Millers chose the Conroe High School-adjacent location strategically. “We wanted to create a fun, family-friendly spot that’s easily accessible for students looking for an after-school treat, and for families seeking a refreshing break during these hot summer months,” John Miller commented. “The community here has been incredibly welcoming, and we’re excited to become a go-to destination.”

While the grand opening festivities took place last weekend, the Hawaiian Icehouse actually began cooling down Conroe with a soft opening on June 8, allowing them to fine-tune operations and introduce their unique offerings to early patrons.

Beyond their signature shaved ice, the tropical-themed shop also offers plain scoops of ice cream, as well as a selection of snacks perfect for a quick bite, including pretzels, Frito pie, various chips, and candies. Thirsty customers can also find a range of bottled sodas, water, and energy drinks.

“I tried the strawberry-guava stuffed with vanilla ice cream, and it was incredible,” said local resident Maria Rodriguez, enjoying her treat with her children. “It’s so much smoother than a snow cone, and the flavors are really vibrant. We’ll definitely be back.”

The Hawaiian Icehouse is open daily from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., providing ample opportunity for locals to experience a taste of the islands without leaving Conroe.
