**Habitat for Humanity Breaks Ground on 19th Home in Magnolia, Welcoming Marble Family**

**MAGNOLIA, TX – June 20, 2024** – Habitat for Humanity Northwest Harris County officially began construction on its latest home project this past Tuesday, June 18th, with a spirited groundbreaking ceremony held in Magnolia. The new build, located within the sprawling “Land of Habitat” development, marks a significant milestone as the 19th home to commence construction in the planned 49-home community.

This newest endeavor will provide a stable, affordable home for the Marble family: Timothy, a dedicated employee of Magnolia ISD; his wife Angelica; and their four children, aged 3 to 11. The family was present at the ceremony, sharing their excitement and gratitude as they prepare to embark on their journey to homeownership.

The “Land of Habitat” development, a cornerstone project for the organization, became possible thanks to a generous land donation from Magnolia ISD in 2013. This long-standing partnership underscores a deep commitment to community development and providing essential resources for local families.

“Every groundbreaking at the Land of Habitat is a testament to the power of partnership and the unwavering spirit of our community,” said a representative from Habitat for Humanity Northwest Harris County. “We are incredibly proud to begin this journey with the Marble family, whose dedication to our community, through Timothy’s work with Magnolia ISD, makes them truly deserving of this opportunity.”

Financial sponsorship for this particular build is being provided by Woodforest National Bank, a prominent local institution known for its commitment to community investment.

“Woodforest National Bank is honored to partner with Habitat for Humanity Northwest Harris County in making the dream of homeownership a reality for the Marble family,” stated a spokesperson for Woodforest National Bank. “Investing in affordable housing not only provides shelter but also builds stronger, more vibrant communities for generations to come.”

The Marble family will actively participate in the construction of their future home, fulfilling Habitat for Humanity’s unique “sweat equity” requirement by contributing 300 hours alongside community volunteers. This hands-on involvement fosters a deep sense of ownership and connection to their new property.

Timothy Marble expressed the family’s enthusiasm, saying, “This is more than just a house; it’s a foundation for our children’s future and a place where we can truly grow as a family. We are so incredibly grateful for this opportunity and look forward to working alongside the volunteers every step of the way.”

Construction is anticipated to continue through the fall, with a target completion and home dedication ceremony scheduled for November. The project exemplifies a powerful collaboration between local government, corporations, non-profits, and countless volunteers, all working together to enhance the quality of life for deserving families in the Northwest Houston area.

Habitat for Humanity Northwest Harris County encourages community members to get involved by volunteering their time or donating to support future builds.
