K. Brady Library Opens Innovation & Business Hub

**New Innovation Space at Kevin Brady Library to Power Local Business and Creativity**

**THE WOODLANDS, TX –** The Kevin Brady Library in The Woodlands is set to revolutionize local entrepreneurship and creativity with the grand opening of its new Innovation Space on Friday, February 6, 2026, at 10 a.m. Located at 1799 Lake Robbins Dr., this state-of-the-art facility will serve as a free, accessible hub for entrepreneurs, small business owners, students, and hobbyists across Montgomery County, providing critical resources to develop new ideas and grow existing ventures.

Operated as a cornerstone initiative of the Montgomery County Memorial Library System (MCMLS), the Innovation Space is meticulously designed to foster business growth and creative exploration. Visitors will find a comprehensive suite of tools and facilities, including dedicated coworking spaces for collaborative work, a private conference room ideal for meetings and presentations, and a versatile event area for workshops and seminars. Digital creators can leverage a professional podcast and video studio, complete with high-end equipment, and access to powerful software, including the full Adobe Creative Suite.

For those working on tangible projects, the space offers advanced 3D printers for prototyping, a Cricut machine for crafting and design, and a button maker for custom branding. Beyond equipment, the Innovation Space also provides essential resources for business development, such as guidance on crafting robust business plans, developing effective marketing strategies, exploring diverse funding options, and even obtaining invaluable legal advice and mentorship through scheduled clinics and expert consultations.

Jerrica Blacklock, MCMLS Director, emphasized the library’s forward-thinking vision. “This Innovation Space is meant to be a place where people can come to get the resources they need to get a business off the ground,” Blacklock stated, highlighting the library’s evolving role as a catalyst for economic development and community empowerment. MCMLS Assistant Director Frank Lucco echoed this sentiment, calling the initiative “something that is going to be incredibly valuable to our community, fostering a new generation of local innovators and successful enterprises.”

The journey to establish the Innovation Space began in 2017 with initial concept development. A significant boost came in 2020 when the project secured a $200,000 CARES Act grant, underscoring its potential for community impact. Renovations at the Kevin Brady Library commenced in July 2024, transforming existing areas into the modern, functional hub seen today. Construction was successfully completed in November 2025, followed by a soft opening for community partners later that year, allowing for preliminary testing and feedback ahead of the official launch. The MCMLS has committed approximately $10,000 annually to ensure the ongoing operational costs and resource availability for the space.

The success of the Innovation Space is built upon strong collaborative partnerships within the region. Key allies include the Montgomery County Small Business Development Center (SBDC), which will likely play a crucial role in providing expert guidance and training; the Conroe Economic Development Council (CEDC), instrumental in promoting local business growth; Lone Star College-Montgomery, connecting students with entrepreneurial opportunities; and The Woodlands Area Chamber of Commerce. Laura McConnell, President and CEO of The Woodlands Area Chamber of Commerce, praised the initiative, noting it would “help foster innovation and growth” across the burgeoning Woodlands region, strengthening the local economy and job market.

As The Woodlands continues its rapid growth, the Innovation Space at the Kevin Brady Library represents a vital new asset, ensuring residents have free access to the tools, knowledge, and network needed to transform ideas into reality. The community is invited to attend the grand opening on February 6, 2026, at 10 a.m. to explore the facility and learn more about how this resource can support their entrepreneurial and creative aspirations.
