**Montgomery County Master Gardeners Celebrate Productive Year, Announce Return of Highly Anticipated Garden Tour in 2026**

**Conroe, TX –** The Montgomery County Master Gardeners (MCMG) recently wrapped up a successful year and set their sights on an ambitious future at their annual end-of-year luncheon, held at the Montgomery County AgriLife Extension Office on 9020 Airport Road in Conroe. The event, attended by approximately 60 members, celebrated a year of significant community impact and officially kicked off planning for a major return to public programming in 2026, including their first public Garden Tour in eight years.

The festive gathering also recognized the organization’s 2024 graduating interns, who have completed their extensive training and volunteer hours to officially become certified Master Gardeners, ready to contribute their expertise to the community.

Montgomery County Judge Mark Keough served as the keynote speaker, offering a compelling address on the county’s unprecedented rapid growth. He delved into the multifaceted implications of this expansion, particularly concerning the strain on vital water resources, the demands on existing infrastructure, and the strategic planning required for future development. Judge Keough underscored the irreplaceable role of local community involvement and volunteerism in navigating these challenges and ensuring sustainable growth for Montgomery County.

Looking ahead with renewed vigor, the Master Gardeners are actively preparing for their much-anticipated return to the public eye with their first Garden Tour since 2018. Slated for early 2026, the event is tentatively titled “A New Garden Begins to Grow,” symbolizing both the organization’s resurgence and the vibrant horticultural landscape of the county. The tour aims to showcase a diverse array of private and public gardens across Montgomery County, offering inspiration and educational insights to attendees.

The primary objective of the 2026 Garden Tour is to generate crucial funds for the MCMG’s established scholarship program, which provides financial support to deserving horticulture students, fostering the next generation of plant experts. Additionally, proceeds will finance various community projects spearheaded by the Master Gardeners, such as educational workshops, demonstration gardens, and school outreach programs that promote sustainable gardening practices.

The organization is currently seeking dedicated volunteers to assist with the extensive planning and scouting of potential garden locations for the tour. Individuals passionate about gardening and community service are encouraged to reach out and contribute to this landmark event. Information on how to volunteer can be found on the MCMG website.
