**Montgomery County Historical Commission Invites Community to Annual Historical Road Rally**

**CONROE, TX** – History enthusiasts and local explorers are invited to rev their engines for the Montgomery County Historical Commission’s annual Road Rally, a popular and free event set to take place on **Saturday, January 27, 2024**. From 9 a.m. to noon, participants will embark on an engaging scavenger hunt designed to delve deep into the rich tapestry of Montgomery County’s past.

The rally kicks off and concludes at the historic **Heritage Museum of Montgomery County, located at 1506 I-45 North in Conroe**. This unique event transforms historical exploration into a competitive adventure, guiding teams to various significant historical markers scattered across the county.

Teams, ideally consisting of 2-4 people per vehicle, will receive a packet containing clues and a map. Their mission: navigate to different historical sites, answer questions about each location, and uncover fascinating stories embedded in the county’s heritage. The initiative serves as a crucial educational tool, aiming to immerse residents in local history and underscore the importance of preserving these invaluable markers.

Larry Foerster, a key organizer for the event and a representative of the Montgomery County Historical Commission, expressed enthusiasm for the upcoming rally. “Our annual Road Rally is more than just a fun competition; it’s an opportunity for our community to connect directly with the stories and places that shaped Montgomery County,” Foerster said. “It’s incredibly rewarding to see families and friends discover hidden gems and learn about the pioneers and events that built our home. Mandatory registration for the rally is now open, but interested parties must act quickly as **spots are limited to the first 25 teams**.
