Oleon Americas Doubles Conroe Production Capacity

**Oleon Americas Doubles Down on Conroe with Major Production Expansion and Job Growth**

Conroe, TX – Oleon Americas, a prominent specialty chemical manufacturer, has announced a significant expansion of its Conroe facility, promising to double its production capacity for specialty esters and create new jobs within the community. The company, located at 12420 FM 2854 in the thriving Conroe Park North industrial park, confirmed plans to add a brand-new production unit, expand warehousing, and construct new office spaces.

Construction for the ambitious project is scheduled to commence in the third quarter of 2024, with an anticipated completion by the fourth quarter of 2025. Erwin Lepoutre, President of Oleon Americas, highlighted the strategic imperative behind the expansion, stating it is “a direct response to increasing demand for their products, particularly across North America.” Specialty esters are versatile chemical compounds used in a wide range of industries, including lubricants, personal care products, food, and agriculture, underscoring the broad market impact of Oleon’s operations.

While the exact financial investment remains undisclosed, the company describes it as a “significant capital investment,” underscoring its commitment to its Conroe operations and the local economy. This substantial outlay is projected to create an initial 10 to 15 new high-quality jobs, with the potential for additional hiring as the plant scales up its enhanced production capabilities.

Beyond boosting output and economic contribution, Oleon Americas is also prioritizing environmental responsibility and operational efficiency with this expansion. Plans include significant upgrades to the existing wastewater treatment plant, demonstrating a commitment to local ecological standards. Furthermore, the integration of a combined heat and power (CHP) system will enhance energy efficiency, reduce the facility’s carbon footprint, and align with global sustainability goals championed by Oleon and its parent company, the Avril Group, headquartered in France.

Oleon, which acquired the Conroe facility in 2011, has steadily grown its presence in the region, affirming its long-term dedication to the area. Local officials have consistently championed Conroe’s supportive environment for businesses, and this expansion further solidifies that reputation.

Danielle Scheiner, Executive Director of the Conroe Economic Development Council (CEDC), praised Oleon’s continued investment in the community. “Oleon Americas’ decision to significantly expand its operations here is a testament to Conroe’s robust business-friendly environment, strategic location, and skilled workforce,” Scheiner stated. “We are thrilled to see a global leader like Oleon thrive and grow in Conroe Park North, creating valuable jobs and further strengthening our industrial base.” Conroe Park North itself has become a magnet for advanced manufacturing and distribution, benefiting from direct access to Interstate 45 and proximity to major transportation hubs, including Houston and the Port of Houston.

This expansion signals Oleon Americas’ confidence in the Conroe facility as a crucial hub for meeting growing market demands and reinforces its position as a key player in the specialty chemical sector. The project promises to bring not only economic vitality through investment and job creation but also showcase a commitment to sustainable industrial practices in Montgomery County.
