**The Players Theatre Company Unveils “A Legacy of Laughter, Love, and Life” for Landmark 60th Anniversary Season**

Conroe, TX – The Players Theatre Company is set to celebrate a monumental milestone, announcing its 60th anniversary season, aptly titled “A Legacy of Laughter, Love, and Life.” Unveiled to an eager audience on April 22 at the historic Owen Theatre (225 Metcalf St.), the 2024-2025 season promises an ambitious lineup of eight mainstage productions, alongside beloved community programs, marking six decades of continuous theatrical excellence in Montgomery County.

Established in 1964, The Players Theatre Company has been a cornerstone of Conroe’s vibrant arts scene, captivating audiences with a diverse array of performances and fostering a love for live theatre. Its longevity is a testament to the dedication of countless volunteers, artists, and patrons who have supported the company through the years, solidifying its role as one of the oldest continually operating community theatres in the region. The Owen Theatre, their long-time home, itself a cherished piece of Conroe’s history, provides the perfect setting for this celebratory year.

The 2024-2025 season boasts a compelling mix of classic dramas, thrilling mysteries, and high-energy musicals designed to appeal to a wide range of theatregoers:

* **”Murder on the Orient Express,”** adapted by Ken Ludwig, kicks off the season with a thrilling whodunit from October 4 to 20, 2024. Agatha Christie’s iconic detective, Hercule Poirot, faces a perplexing case on a snowbound train.
* A beloved holiday tradition returns with **”A Christmas Carol,”** adapted by Michael Wilson, gracing the stage from November 29 to December 15, 2024. This timeless tale of redemption is perfect for the whole family.
* The new year brings the uplifting musical **”Bright Star,”** featuring bluegrass-infused music by Steve Martin and Edie Brickell, playing January 24 to February 9, 2025. This heartwarming story of love and resilience earned a Tony Award nomination for Best Musical.
* Neil Simon’s iconic comedy, **”The Odd Couple,”** promises riotous laughter from March 7 to 23, 2025, as two mismatched friends attempt to share an apartment.
* Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice’s powerful rock opera, **”Jesus Christ Superstar,”** will electrify audiences from April 25 to May 11, 2025, with its legendary score and dramatic storytelling.
* Robert Harling’s beloved play, **”Steel Magnolias,”** takes the stage June 6 to 22, 2025, offering a poignant and humorous look at the enduring friendships among a group of Southern women.
* The high-energy musical **”Rock of Ages,”** with a book by Chris D’Arienzo, will transport audiences back to the 1980s with classic rock anthems from July 25 to August 10, 2025.
* Closing out this monumental season is **”To Kill A Mockingbird,”** adapted by Christopher Sergel, a powerful and timely adaptation of Harper Lee’s Pulitzer Prize-winning novel, playing September 5 to 21, 2025.
