Safe & Green opens Conroe modular factory

Conroe Welcomes New 200,000-Square-Foot Modular Manufacturing Facility

Conroe, Texas – Safe & Green Manufacturing, a subsidiary of Safe & Green Holdings, officially commenced operations at its new, expansive modular construction facility in Conroe, Texas, on April 11, 2024. The 200,000-square-foot plant, located at 2000 FM 2854, is poised to become a significant hub for producing sturdy, sustainable steel-framed modular structures, promising substantial economic benefits and job creation for the region.

The company, which signed the lease for the facility in October 2023, is dedicated to manufacturing modular units for a diverse range of projects. These include multi-family and single-family homes, commercial buildings, and government initiatives. The first modules from the Conroe facility are expected to ship out in the third quarter of 2024, with the company aiming for full production capacity by the first quarter of 2025. Initially, the plant will produce around 200 modules per month, with a strategic goal to scale up to 1,000 units monthly.

This new endeavor is also a significant boost for local employment. Safe & Green Manufacturing projects the creation of approximately 200 new jobs in Conroe within the next 12 to 18 months.

Paul Galvin, Chairman and CEO of Safe & Green Holdings, explained the strategic decision to choose Conroe for their new facility. “Conroe offers exceptional access to the expansive Texas and Sun Belt markets, close proximity to Houston’s vital shipping ports, and a robust local workforce,” Galvin stated. He also highlighted the strong support received from local leaders, including Montgomery County Judge Mark Keough and Conroe Mayor Pro-Tem Curt Maddux, as a key factor in their decision.

Leading the team at the Conroe plant are Jim Brinker, President of Safe & Green Manufacturing, and Danielle Brinker, the company’s CFO. They emphasized the advantages of their steel-frame construction methods. “Our modular units are not only inherently safer, offering enhanced resistance to events like hurricanes and earthquakes, but they are also more environmentally friendly, significantly reducing construction waste,” Jim Brinker noted. The company has invested millions into upgrading the existing facility to meet their specialized manufacturing requirements. They expressed enthusiasm for providing quicker, more affordable housing solutions across various sectors, from disaster relief and veteran housing to general market housing.
