A Conroe resident was arrested early Wednesday morning for driving while intoxicated following a traffic stop on the Interstate 45 North frontage road near League Line Road.

Conroe Police Department officers observed a vehicle, a 2018 Ford F-150 pickup, swerving across multiple lanes and failing to maintain a single lane of travel around 1:30 a.m. on October 25, 2023. A traffic stop was initiated, and contact was made with the driver, identified as 34-year-old Mark Allen Johnson of Conroe.

During the interaction, officers noted signs of impairment, including slurred speech and a strong odor of alcohol emanating from Johnson. Standardized field sobriety tests were administered, which Johnson reportedly failed. He was subsequently taken into custody on suspicion of driving while intoxicated.

Johnson was transported to the Montgomery County Jail and booked on a Class B misdemeanor charge of Driving While Intoxicated. No injuries were reported in connection with the incident, and the vehicle was towed from the scene.
