THE WOODLANDS, TX – The Woodlands Waterway will come alive this weekend as The Woodlands Waterway Arts Festival celebrates its landmark 20th anniversary, transforming the picturesque waterfront and extending into Town Green Park from Friday, April 12, through Sunday, April 14. Organized by The Woodlands Arts Council, this milestone event is poised to host an unprecedented gathering of over 250 national, international, and regional artists, anticipating tens of thousands of visitors ready to immerse themselves in a vibrant showcase of fine art, live music, literary arts, and culinary delights.

For two decades, The Woodlands Waterway Arts Festival has evolved from a burgeoning local event into one of the nation’s premier arts festivals, consistently recognized for its high-quality juried art and stunning outdoor setting. This year’s anniversary celebration underscores the festival’s enduring commitment to bringing world-class artistic talent to Montgomery County, fostering a deeper appreciation for the arts, and significantly contributing to the local cultural landscape and economy.

Attendees can expect to discover a diverse array of artistic mediums, including painting, sculpture, photography, jewelry, ceramics, mixed media, and more, presented by artists hand-selected through a rigorous jury process. Beyond the visual arts, the festival will feature multiple stages with live musical performances spanning various genres, engaging literary arts programming, and an extensive selection of culinary offerings from over 15 food vendors, complemented by several beer and wine stations.

The festival officially opens its gates from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on both Friday, April 12, and Saturday, April 13. On its final day, Sunday, April 14, the event will conclude an hour earlier, running from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Tickets are available for purchase online at thewoodlandsartscouncil.org or directly at the festival gates. A one-day pass is priced at $18, while a two-day pass offers greater value at $25. Families planning to attend will be pleased to know that children aged 12 and under receive free admission, encouraging younger generations to experience the arts.

Navigating the festival is made convenient with several parking options. Free parking can be found at The Woodlands Mall garage, The Woodlands Waterway Square garage, and various Market Street garages. For those preferring paid parking, the Woodlands Central Garage located at 2100 Lakeside Blvd is an option. ADA accessible parking is available at both the Woodlands Central Garage and the Town Center Garage.

To ensure easy access throughout the sprawling event, The Woodlands Township is providing complimentary trolley service all three days of the festival. Visitors can catch a ride from designated pick-up locations at The Woodlands Mall, Waterway Square, Town Green Park, The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion, and Market Street. Additionally, a dedicated shuttle service for ADA guests will run from the Woodlands Central Garage (2100 Lakeside Blvd) directly to the festival entrance at Town Green Park. With the entire event stretching 1.3 miles along the waterway, walking is highly encouraged, and bicycle racks are available near festival entrances for those who prefer to cycle.

The main entrances to the festival are conveniently located at Town Green Park, specifically at 2099 Lake Robbins Dr, and at The Woodlands Waterway Square. Once inside, guests will find numerous amenities, including refillable water stations for empty bottles, First Aid stations, and the popular Artopoly zone in Town Green Park, offering a variety of engaging activities designed for younger art enthusiasts. Throughout the festival grounds, attendees can also discover unique art benches, adding an interactive sculptural element to their experience.

A few important notes for attendees: pets are not permitted on festival grounds, with the exception of service animals. For a smooth and secure experience, the festival operates on a cashless basis, with credit and debit cards being the preferred payment method for all purchases.
