Todd Mission, TX – The Texas Renaissance Festival, a prominent annual event in Todd Mission, is expanding its season to nine weekends in 2025, marking a significant change after primarily operating on an eight-weekend schedule for the past decade.
The 2025 festival will now kick off on Saturday, October 4, 2025, and continue through Sunday, November 30, 2025. This extended run will encompass a full nine weekends, including the popular Thanksgiving weekend, which traditionally draws large crowds.
Festival owner George Coulam indicated that the decision comes in response to overwhelming demand from patrons seeking more opportunities to visit, particularly to alleviate the heavy congestion often experienced on the final weekends of the season. Adding an extra weekend is intended to provide greater flexibility for attendees.
The new opening weekend of October 4-5, 2025, will feature a special "Oktoberfest" theme, a dedicated strategy by organizers to encourage early attendance. The festival briefly experimented with a nine-weekend season in 2013, but that attempt was scaled back after the initial weekend did not meet attendance expectations. Organizers are approaching this current expansion with renewed focus and specific thematic planning.
For those planning to attend this year, the 2024 season will remain an eight-weekend event, running from October 5 to December 1, 2024. This year also marks the festival's 50th anniversary.
Early bird season passes and camping passes for the 2025 festival are scheduled to go on sale starting Saturday, May 25, 2024, at 10 AM. Further details and ticket purchases can be made through the official Texas Renaissance Festival website at texrenfest.com.
