World’s Largest Buc-ee’s Opens in Luling, Texas

**Buc-ee’s Reclaims ‘World’s Largest’ Title with Massive New Luling Travel Center**

**LULING, Texas** – Buc-ee’s officially opened its new, colossal travel center in Luling on Monday, June 10, 2024, reclaiming the coveted title of the “world’s largest” convenience store. The sprawling 75,000-square-foot retail mecca now stands as a beacon for travelers, eclipsing the company’s previous record-holder in Sevierville, Tennessee, by a full thousand square feet.

Located strategically off I-10 at 10070 I-10, the new Luling behemoth replaces Buc-ee’s very first large travel center, which originally opened its doors in 2003. That initial 3,000-square-foot store, a humble beginning by today’s standards, has been demolished, and this significantly expanded version was built on the same property, cementing Buc-ee’s long-standing commitment to the Luling community.

Drivers approaching the new facility are greeted by an incredible 120 individual fueling positions, designed to handle immense volumes of traffic efficiently. Inside, the store offers everything Buc-ee’s is famous for, and then some: a vast array of Texas-themed merchandise, freshly made fudge, a dedicated pasty kitchen, their renowned Texas BBQ, an expansive selection of jerky, and, of course, the brand’s famously clean and spacious restrooms.

Arch “Beaver” Aplin III, founder and CEO of Buc-ee’s, expressed his excitement about the grand reopening in Luling. “Luling is where it all began for our large travel centers, and it’s a community that has always welcomed us with open arms,” Aplin stated. “To be able to return with an even bigger and better store on the same hallowed ground is truly special. We’re proud to bring back our unique travel experience and continue our legacy here.”

The economic impact of the new Buc-ee’s is expected to be substantial for Luling and Caldwell County. The travel center has created hundreds of new jobs, offering competitive wages and benefits, and is projected to significantly boost local tourism and tax revenue. “This new Buc-ee’s isn’t just a store; it’s a major economic engine for our town,” said Sarah Chen, President of the Luling Chamber of Commerce. “It draws visitors from across the state and beyond, benefiting our local businesses and putting Luling firmly on the map as a premier travel destination.”

Buc-ee’s has garnered a cult following over the years, known for transforming the mundane gas station stop into a memorable road trip experience. Its unique blend of meticulously maintained facilities, diverse food options like Beaver Nuggets and kolaches, and quirky souvenirs has made it a must-visit for many travelers.

One excited customer, Maria Rodriguez, stopping at the new location on opening day, remarked, “I always plan my road trips around Buc-ee’s stops. The new Luling store is incredible – it feels like a theme park for travelers. There’s just so much to see and do, and you know the bathrooms will always be spotless.”

The opening marks another milestone in the growth of the Texas-based chain, which has steadily expanded its footprint across the South.
