**Young Texas Artists Gala to Celebrate Classical Talent, Culminating National Music Competition in Conroe**

Conroe, TX – The vibrant heart of Conroe’s arts district is set to resonate with classical music and community spirit as the Young Texas Artists (YTA) prepares for its annual “Bach, Beethoven & Barbecue” gala on Saturday, March 9, 2024. This significant fundraising event will kick off at 6:30 PM at the Owen Theatre, located at 225 Metcalf St., adjacent to the historic Crighton Theatre.

For those wishing to enhance their evening, a special VIP reception will precede the main event at 5:30 PM, hosted by YTA Board Member Amy S. Kelly, offering an exclusive opportunity for light bites and beverages.

The gala serves as the grand finale to the YTA’s highly anticipated National Music Competition, a prestigious event that draws top classical musicians aged 18 to 32 from across the country. From March 7-9, these exceptional talents will vie for over $30,000 in cash prizes, including a coveted Grand Prize, solidifying YTA’s role as a vital springboard for emerging artists.

The preliminary and semi-final rounds of the competition are open to the public for free viewing at the Crighton Theatre, 234 N. Main St., on March 7-8. Audiences can witness the impressive skill and artistry across four categories: Voice, Piano, Strings, and Winds.

The competition culminates on Saturday, March 9, with the highly anticipated Finalists’ Concert & Awards, also held at the Crighton Theatre. This capstone event, where finalists perform one last time before winners are announced, requires a ticket, priced at $30, to experience the captivating performances and celebrate the next generation of classical stars.

Following the Finalists’ Concert, attendees are invited next door to the Owen Theatre for the “Bach, Beethoven & Barbecue” gala. General admission tickets for the gala are $175, while the VIP experience is priced at $275.

Proceeds from both the Finalists’ Concert and the gala directly bolster YTA’s mission. Since its founding in 1983, the organization has been dedicated to nurturing young Texas musicians, providing crucial performance opportunities and financial assistance as they embark on professional careers in classical music. Over four decades, YTA has served hundreds of promising artists, fostering their talents and connecting them with a network of mentors and supporters.

Susie Moore, YTA President/CEO, expressed her excitement for the upcoming events. “This year promises an extraordinary showcase of talent, reflecting the dedication and passion of these young musicians,” Moore said. “The ‘Bach, Beethoven & Barbecue’ gala is not only a fantastic evening of food, fellowship, and fine music, but it’s also critical to our ability to continue supporting these artists. We invite the community to join us in celebrating our enduring impact on the classical music world and to witness the stars of tomorrow, today.”

Tickets for the Finalists’ Concert and the “Bach, Beethoven & Barbecue” gala can be purchased online at www.youngtexasartists.org. Early reservations are encouraged for both events, particularly the VIP reception, to ensure participation in this highlight of Conroe’s cultural calendar.
