Magnolia Man Dies in Single-Vehicle Crash

MAGNOLIA – A 50-year-old Magnolia man died late Monday night, January 22nd, following a single-vehicle crash on FM 1488 in Montgomery County. Donald J. Green, also of Magnolia, was identified as the victim in the incident, which occurred just west of Mill Creek Road.

According to authorities, Green was driving a 2017 Kia Forte eastbound on FM 1488 around 10:15 p.m. when he reportedly failed to keep his vehicle in a single lane. The car veered off the right side of the roadway, struck a culvert, and then collided with a tree.

Emergency crews from the Montgomery County Precinct 5 Constables, the Montgomery County Hospital District, and the Magnolia Fire Department responded to the scene. Green was pronounced dead at the site of the crash.

The Department of Public Safety (DPS) is leading the investigation to determine the exact circumstances that led to the fatal incident. Justice of the Peace Wayne Mack ordered an autopsy, which is standard procedure in such cases.

This crash marks the tenth traffic fatality on Montgomery County roads so far this year.
