Dr. Curtis Null Named Conroe ISD Superintendent

**Conroe ISD Appoints Homegrown Leader Dr. Curtis Null as New Superintendent**

CONROE, TX – The Conroe Independent School District Board of Trustees officially named Dr. Curtis Null as its new Superintendent on Tuesday, May 14, 2024, concluding a state-mandated waiting period and ushering in a new era of leadership for the rapidly growing district. Dr. Null, a veteran educator with deep roots in Conroe ISD, will officially assume the top role on June 1, 2024, succeeding retiring Superintendent Dr. Ann Park.

The unanimous approval by the Board came after the state-mandated 21-day waiting period, which began when Null was first named the sole finalist for the prestigious position on April 23. This move solidifies his ascent to lead one of Texas’s largest and fastest-growing school districts.

Dr. Null’s journey through Conroe ISD is a testament to his dedication and understanding of the district’s fabric. He began his career in 2002 as a teacher and coach, steadily climbing the ranks through various administrative roles. His extensive experience includes serving as an assistant principal, associate principal, and principal at Knox Junior High, The Woodlands College Park High School, and Conroe High School. Before this latest appointment, he also held critical district-level positions such as Assistant Superintendent of Secondary Education, Chief Financial Officer, Associate Superintendent of Operations, and Deputy Superintendent. This comprehensive background provides him with an intimate knowledge of district operations from the classroom to the boardroom.

Board President Skeeter Hubert underscored Dr. Null’s exceptional leadership qualities and his profound grasp of the district’s core mission. “Dr. Null embodies the spirit of Conroe ISD. His leadership, combined with his deep understanding of our mission and his unwavering commitment to our students and community, makes him the ideal choice to guide our district forward,” Hubert stated following the vote.

Dr. Null, in turn, emphasized his personal connection to the district he now leads. “Conroe ISD is home for me and my family. From my beginnings as a teacher and coach to this incredible opportunity, every step has reinforced my belief in our students, staff, and community,” he said. “My commitment to our success is unwavering, and I am excited to continue the great work already underway and to build upon the strong foundation Dr. Park has left.”

Dr. Null takes the helm from Dr. Ann Park, who retires after a distinguished career leading the district. Under Dr. Park’s leadership, Conroe ISD maintained its reputation for academic excellence and navigated significant growth, setting a high bar for her successor.

As Superintendent of a district serving over 70,000 students across 68 campuses, Dr. Null will oversee continued academic excellence, strategic growth, and resource management in one of the fastest-growing regions in Texas. His tenure is expected to focus on maintaining high educational standards while navigating the challenges and opportunities presented by rapid demographic shifts and technological advancements.

Conroe ISD is a sprawling district encompassing 348 square miles, serving communities including Conroe, Oak Ridge North, Panorama Village, Shenandoah, and parts of the extraterritorial jurisdiction of Houston, The Woodlands, and Montgomery County. It is known for its strong academic programs, robust extracurricular activities, and commitment to student achievement.

The appointment of Dr. Null, a leader cultivated from within its own ranks, signals the district’s confidence in its internal talent pipeline and its enduring vision for student success. For more information about Conroe ISD and Dr. Null’s appointment, visit the official Conroe ISD website.
