AMBER Alert: Missing baby, mother wanted, NW Harris Co.

AMBER Alert: Missing baby, mother wanted, NW Harris Co.

HOUSTON, TX – Authorities have issued a statewide Amber Alert for an 11-month-old boy who disappeared from Northwest Harris County on Friday, prompting an urgent search by the Harris County Sheriff's Office.

Thaddeus Sran was last seen around 12:45 p.m. on February 2 in the 17100 block of North Eldridge Parkway. Investigators believe the infant is in grave or immediate danger.

According to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, the child is believed to be in the company of his biological mother, 37-year-old Monica Louise Sran. Monica Sran is currently wanted by law enforcement for violating a court order regarding the custody of the child.

Law enforcement officials have described Thaddeus as being 2 feet tall and weighing approximately 20 pounds. He has brown hair and brown eyes. At the time of his disappearance, he was wearing a gray, long-sleeved bodysuit.

Monica Sran is described as 5 feet 1 inch tall and weighing roughly 120 pounds. She also has brown hair and brown eyes.

The pair is believed to be traveling in a silver 2017 Volkswagen Jetta bearing the Texas license plate number RYN-1506.

The Harris County Sheriff's Office is leading the investigation and is working with regional partners to track the vehicle’s location. Because of the nature of the custodial violation and the child's young age, investigators have escalated the case to an Amber Alert, which is reserved for abduction cases where law enforcement determines there is a significant risk of harm or death to the child.

Officials are urging the public not to approach the vehicle if spotted but to contact authorities immediately. Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Thaddeus or Monica Sran is asked to contact the Harris County Sheriff’s Office at 713-221-6000 or to dial 911 immediately.

Updates on the search will be provided as more information becomes available through the Harris County Sheriff's Office official social media channels and the Texas Department of Public Safety's Amber Alert database at dps.texas.gov.
