Conroe Lions Approve Bylaws, Detail Fair & Events

Conroe Noon Lions Club approved updated bylaws and focused on future fundraisers. Preparations are underway for their 2024 Montgomery County Fair & Rodeo
CONROE, Texas — Members of the Conroe Noon Lions Club gathered Wednesday, August 23, for a high-energy meeting that bridged the gap between essential organizational housekeeping and preparations for the community’s most anticipated spring traditions.
The meeting, led by club President Jason Miller, was anchored by the formal approval of updated club bylaws. The overhaul was designed to modernize the club’s governing framework, ensuring that operational procedures are aligned with current best practices and the evolving needs of the nonprofit organization.
However, the primary focus of the afternoon shifted quickly to the future, specifically the upcoming Montgomery County Fair & Rodeo, scheduled for April 5 through April 14, 2024. For the Conroe Noon Lions, the fair represents the cornerstone of their annual fiscal health. As the club’s largest single fundraiser, the event provides the necessary capital to sustain a year-long portfolio of community service projects, including significant scholarship endowments for local students and comprehensive eye care initiatives for those in need within Montgomery County.
Central to the club’s fair efforts is their legendary food booth, a staple of the event experience. During the meeting, co-chairs Lisa O’Neill and Ralph Perez presented a roadmap for the upcoming season, confirming that planning for the production of their famous ribeye sandwiches and signature onion rings is already in full swing.
The club was also joined by Craig Doyal, President of the Montgomery County Fair Association, who provided an exclusive update on the broader scope of the 2024 fair. Doyal highlighted the association’s progress in securing new corporate sponsorships and outlined an expanded schedule of events, promising an elevated experience for attendees next spring.
Beyond the fair, the Conroe Noon Lions are turning their attention to autumn. Members were reminded of the upcoming Pancake Day, a long-standing tradition for the organization. The event is set for Saturday, November 11, and will be hosted at the Conroe High School cafeteria. The fundraiser is traditionally a major community draw, serving as both a social gathering and a critical source of support for the club's charitable outreach programs.
The Conroe Noon Lions Club, which has been an active force in the community since 1939, continues to invite local residents to participate in their service initiatives.
