Conroe Man Arrested on Warrants, New Drug Charge

CONROE, Texas - A late-night disturbance call in Conroe on March 19 resulted in the arrest of a local man with multiple active warrants and the discovery of additional narcotics, according to the Conroe Police Department.
Officers J. Smith and G. Davis responded to a call regarding a disturbance in the 800 block of W. Dallas Street at approximately 10:07 p.m. Upon arrival, officers identified 39-year-old William Thomas Eubanks of Conroe.
A routine records check revealed that Eubanks was wanted on two active warrants. The primary warrant was a felony charge for the manufacture or delivery of a controlled substance, specifically a Penalty Group 1 substance in an amount between 4 and 200 grams. Under the Texas Health and Safety Code, Penalty Group 1 substances include opioids, cocaine, and methamphetamine. In addition to the felony charge, Eubanks held an active misdemeanor warrant for the possession of a controlled substance, specifically a Penalty Group 3 substance in an amount under 28 grams. Penalty Group 3 typically includes substances such as benzodiazepines or certain stimulants.
Following the confirmation of the warrants, officers took Eubanks into custody. During a search incident to the arrest, police reported finding two small plastic baggies in Eubanks’ right front pocket containing approximately one gram of a substance identified as methamphetamine. This discovery resulted in a new charge of possession of a controlled substance, Penalty Group 1, less than one gram.
Eubanks was transported to the Montgomery County Jail and appeared before Precinct 1 Justice of the Peace Michael Seiler. Judge Seiler set the suspect’s total bond at $12,500. The bond was apportioned as $10,000 for the original felony warrant, $1,500 for the misdemeanor warrant, and $1,000 for the new possession charge.
As of Thursday morning, March 21, Eubanks remained in custody at the Montgomery County Jail.
The incident marks another development in ongoing local efforts to address narcotics-related activity in the Conroe area. Records from the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office indicate that Eubanks remains held pending further judicial proceedings.
