CONROE, Texas — Residents of Conroe have a new destination for dessert as the viral franchise Crispy Cones officially opened its doors at 3000 W. Davis St., Ste. 700, on June 22.
The grand opening marks a significant milestone for the rapidly growing brand, serving as the second Houston-area location following a successful debut in Katy this past April.
Owned and operated by local franchisees Justin and Amber Alldredge, the shop introduces Conroe to a distinct European-inspired delicacy. The menu is centered on the trdelník, a traditional Czech pastry known for its cylindrical shape and sweet, doughy texture. At Crispy Cones, the dough is freshly grilled on a rotisserie, rolled in cinnamon sugar, and then filled with premium soft-serve ice cream. Customers can further customize their treats with a variety of toppings, including crushed Oreos, fruit, nut butters, and specialized drizzles.
The journey to bring this concept to Texas began thousands of miles away. Justin Alldredge explains that the spark for the business occurred during a vacation to Prague, where the couple encountered the street food staple. Struck by the unique combination of the warm, grilled pastry and cold ice cream, the duo pivoted to bring the experience to the American market.
The brand gained national attention after a successful appearance on the hit ABC show Shark Tank, where the founders secured an investment from Barbara Corcoran. That exposure helped fuel the franchise's aggressive expansion strategy across the country, with the Conroe location being a key addition to the brand's growing footprint in the Lone Star State.
Beyond the signature cones, the shop offers "dough cones" without ice cream for those looking for a lighter take on the pastry, as well as a variety of rotating specialty flavors.
