MCSO Narcotics Raid in Conroe: Drugs, Gun, Arrests

CONROE, TX — Two local men remain in custody following a targeted drug raid by the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Enforcement Team in the Bennette Estates neighborhood late last week.

The operation, which took place on Thursday, May 30, was the culmination of an ongoing investigation into illicit drug distribution in the Conroe area. According to a statement from the Sheriff’s Office, tactical units executed a search warrant at a residence located in the 100 block of East Bennette Street.

During the search, investigators recovered a substantial cache of illegal drugs, including more than 100 grams of crack cocaine and over 150 grams of marijuana. Authorities also seized a firearm and a significant amount of cash, which investigators suspect are proceeds from illicit narcotics sales.

Nathaniel Lee Bennette Jr., 33, and Quinton Deonte Bennette, 27, both of Conroe, were taken into custody at the scene.

Both men face felony charges for the Manufacture or Delivery of a Controlled Substance, specifically Penalty Group 1, in an amount ranging from 4 to 200 grams. Under Texas law, this charge carries significant penalties, including potential prison time. Both individuals also face charges for possession of marijuana between 4 ounces and 5 pounds.

Quinton Deonte Bennette faces additional charges of tampering with physical evidence and evading arrest, resulting in a higher bond amount. Records from the Montgomery County Jail indicate his bond was set at $110,000, while Nathaniel Lee Bennette Jr.’s bond was set at $50,000.

The Bennette Estates neighborhood, where the raid occurred, has seen increased law enforcement presence in recent months as the Sheriff’s Office intensifies its efforts to disrupt local narcotics trafficking rings. Officials said the investigation into the residence remains active and ongoing.

Montgomery County Sheriff Rand Henderson has repeatedly emphasized the department’s commitment to eradicating drug distribution networks that negatively impact the safety of local communities. Residents are encouraged to report suspected narcotics activity by contacting the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office at 936-760-5800 or through the official MCSO website at www.mctxsheriff.org.

Anonymous tips can also be provided through Multi-County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-392-STOP (7867).

As of Tuesday morning, both suspects remain in the Montgomery County Jail. No further details regarding their upcoming court appearances have been released.
