Roman Forest Blvd Closes March 26-29 for Utility Work

Roman Forest Blvd will close March 26-29 for utility upgrades between Tavola & the municipal complex. Expect major thru-traffic disruptions & delays.

ROMAN FOREST — Residents and daily commuters in Roman Forest should prepare for significant travel disruptions starting Tuesday, March 26, as the city initiates a four-day infrastructure improvement project.

The City of Roman Forest announced that a major segment of Roman Forest Boulevard will be closed to thru-traffic to facilitate essential utility work. The closure will stretch from the main entrance of the Tavola community to the municipal complex, which houses both City Hall and the Roman Forest Police Department.

Utility crews are scheduled to be on-site performing critical maintenance, specifically focusing on the replacement of aging utility poles and related infrastructure upgrades. The work is slated to take place daily during daylight hours, beginning Tuesday morning and concluding on the evening of Friday, March 29.

City officials emphasize that the work is necessary to bolster the reliability of the local power grid and ensure the continued safety of the area’s utility infrastructure. However, the closure of this arterial roadway is expected to create bottleneck conditions for those traveling to and from the Tavola subdivision and neighboring residential areas.

Motorists should anticipate considerable delays throughout the work week. The Roman Forest Police Department is advising commuters to bypass the construction zone entirely if possible. For those needing to navigate around the affected area, the city suggests utilizing US 59 as a primary alternate route.

While local access for residents living directly within the construction zone will be managed by on-site crews, the city is urging all drivers to exercise caution, adhere to posted signage, and remain alert for utility workers operating near the roadway.

For updates on the project status or potential changes to the schedule, residents are encouraged to monitor the official City of Roman Forest website at www.cityofromanforest.org or follow the city’s official social media channels. Commuters should check local traffic apps or Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) resources for real-time updates on traffic flow along the US 59 corridor.
